Doctor Who one-shot - Fool's Eternity.

Bah bah bah bum.

He had a headache. No surprises there.

Bah bah bah bum.

Rubbing didn't help either. It never did.

Tapping on the desk, fingers working overtime as he tapped out the rhythm.

His companion could only watch him sadly.

"I can help."

"Yeah, sure."

Bah bah bah bum.

Nothing could ever help. He was doomed for hearing this for eternity. Until he died somehow of course.

"Why won't it stop?"

Doctor had no answer for this one. He'd never really trusted doctors ...they always let you down.

Bah bah bah bum.

The Master whimpered as he put his head face down on the writing desk, almost behaving like a child.

"Hurts..."

Cool fingers tentatively touched his forehead and the Doctor opened up the mind link, sharing some of his pain. It was slightly less maddening than before. At least the Doctor was trying. He always did his best.

Dark chocolate met light caramel as the former enemies turned best friends again smiled wearily at each other. Then the TARDIS shifted a little and seemed to sigh as she settled into their next destination. Removing the hand from the Master's forehead, the Doctor skipped almost manically to the doors of the cyan ship.

"Let's go buddy!"

It was like living with a two year old hyped up on sugar and suffering from ADHD.

The Master grinned, eyes gleaming at the prospect of another adventure. The drums continued as he hurried out after the Doctor. He was a fool trapped with drums for eternity. At least he had a friend to share it with.

Bah bah bah bum.
