Because Of You
Chapter One - Not Today
I've had it. I've just had it. Every single day I want to ask him this, but I keep stalling. Why can't I just do it? Am I that afraid? Am I scared that he'll reject me? All of these questions keep buzzing around in my head, waiting to be answered. Come on Raven, you can do this. Alright, here goes nothing.
Walking to the common room, I make myself some herbal tea. This should calm me down a bit. I sit on the couch, and sip my herbal tea.
"It's about time you're not reading that book," a voice behind me said. "And your problem is?". Damn. I made a promise to myself I wouldn't be so judgemental to others. Promise broken.
"I don't have a problem with that, it's just that you always read that book." Beast Boy replied.
"Nice to know. Shouldn't you be out with Cyborg doing whatever the hell you guys do?" I ask him, hoping he won't go with Cyborg so I can talk to him.
"Nope. He said he has a date with Bee and forgot. By the way, why ask? You don't really care about what I do." Beast Boy answered.
Is that true? "That's not true." I say, being careful not to make him feel sad. "Yeah right!" he shouts.
Looks like today I'm not telling him. "What's gotten you so worked up?" I ask. "You… in a way..." he starts. I'm definitely not going to tell him, with him being like that.
"I understand. I'm creepy to you, aren't I? I suppose I am, me being the reason you're like that." I say to him. I'm not surprised, really. It's normal to me.
Before he can say anything, I got to my room to meditate. I chant my mantra, and enter my mind.
"Hi Raven!" a cheerful voice in front of me says. "Hello Happy, do you know where Wisdom is by any chance?" I reply to Happy.
"Four Eyes? She's in the library, as usual." answers Happy, making a fake gag sound. "Yeah, thanks." I say to her before making my way to the library.
"Wisdom, are you in here?" I say, hoping she is in here. "I need your help.". "What may I assist you in?" Wisdom asked. "I need help with a certain someone." I answer. "And who is this certain someone?" Wisdom asks again. "I'm pretty sure you know who this certain someone is." I reply, getting annoyed. "I'm just doing what I have to do, Raven". "Ugh, fine. It's Beast Boy," I answer. "He's been acting strange lately.". Wisdom sat and thought for a minute.
"Raven, this is something you have to discuss with Affection. It is more suitable. You know talking about love really isn't my thing," Wisdom finally responds. "I know you are not really comfortable discussing with Affection, but I'm afraid that is your only hope.". Is it worth it? I think it is. "Alright Wisdom, if that's what you say." I reply, grunting.
