Face of Halloween

The opening and end dialogue is actually a conversation that took place today between me and a co worker (who, for the record, is male). It made me think of what Buzz's reaction to Jessie might be in a similar circumstance!

"What are you wearing tomorrow, Buzz?"

"Tomorrow?" Buzz raises an eyebrow at Jessie, who's standing a few steps away, her hands on her hips.

"Tomorrow. It's Halloween," she reminds him, and he shrugs.

"What are you gonna be?" he asks, avoiding the question, and diverting the attention back onto her.

"I thought I'd borrow some clothes from the Barbie Molly keeps in her room, and dress up."

"As what?" he asks, and she taps the side of her nose.

"Butt out, mister. That's for me to know and you to find out."

He regards her as she folds her arms. "Would you mind helping me find a costume?"

She shrugs good naturedly. "Why not? Got something in mind?" He shakes his head, and she rolls her eyes. "So I have to have the idea for you as well?"

"Well, now you mention it, that would be nice," he responds, and she smirks.

"Why don't you come as yourself, Buzz?"

"As myself?" He doesn't get it.

She laughs. "Well, your face is scary enough."

He looks across at her, wanting to be annoyed, but she's wearing a big grin on her face, and he can't help smiling at her wit.

"I could say the same for you," he bats back at her, and she gives another laugh.

"But you wouldn't dare."

She's right about that, but only because it wouldn't be true. Her face is the thing that lights up his day, no matter what day of the year it is, whatever special occasion or national celebration. And on Halloween, she'd still be radiant, no matter what costume she chooses to adorn herself with.
