The day was unnaturally warm and sunny as the Souma family dressed in black stood around the coffin of their head of the family.
Yes, he was finally dead. His illness for his whole life had finally taken that very life. Even though he had caused heart ach for the peopled cursed of the zodiac. They still came and payed their respect with many actually crying. Shigure one of them, sobbing quietly into Hatori's shoulder.
Kagura was clinging to kyou's arm but for once he didn't mind. As she sobbed quietly kyou bought his arm around her to comfort her. She looked up at him and saw him staring at Yuki just to the left of him.
The reverend stated the last line of his service to the 13 people surrounding the grave and Yuki took that as his cue to place his one red rose on the top of the coffin. The others also followed in the order of the zodiac animals that entered the banquet. Kyou of course being last. Many of the Souma's left as soon as the coffin was being lowered into the ground stating that they couldn't take anymore.
Yuki was the only one who stayed behind. But soon he was joined by Kyou. Who had taken Kagura to the car.
The two just stood in silence staring at the new white tomb stone added to the graveyard around them.
"Do you miss him?" Kyou's voice said breaking the silence surrounding them. But no conviction was in his voice like usual.
It took Yuki a while to answer. Making Kyou think that he wasn't going to, therefore turning to leave.
"Strangely enough I do" he stated never taking his eyes from the tomb stone. "Even though he caused me so much pain, I still miss him"
Kyou turned around again watching
Yuki step forward and place a hand on top of the tomb stone. Kyou noticed a tear run down his cheek as he did so.
"Why is life so cruel, kyou?" Yuki stated sadly.
Kyou was surprised to hear his name fall from his cousin's lips.
"I don't know" kyou replied walking up next to Yuki. Yuki turned.
"It's not fair! It's not fair!" Yuki said over and over hitting, kyou in the chest as tears poring down his face, ending with him wrapping his arms around his cousin and burying his head into his shoulder.
Kyou wrapped his arms around his cousin also and started to rub his back.
As Yuki started to calm down he looked up at kyou to see him looking down at him.
The space between them began to get smaller.
As their lips met both cousins found that they felt true happiness. Something the Souma family rarely felt.
As they parted kyou pulled Yuki back into a hug. The two stood like that for a while just in silence feeling the true happiness around them.
Yuki pulled away from kyou.
"We better get back" he stated wiping the tears from his face.
All kyou did was nod. As they walked back to the private bus that bought them here Yuki slipped his hand into Kyou's.
So a sad day to begin with turned into the best day for both kyou and Yuki and there love for each other now couldn't be taken away for that certain someone was dead.
