AUTHORS NOTE PLEASE READ!!!!!!- this is my first Black Hawk down fic and is written from the pov of Matt Eversmann upon returning to the U.S. The fic starts out with the basic story of Black Hawk Down from his perspective so the first few chapters or so are basically like the movie! If you don't like that then read no further. After he gives his account of Black Hawk Down his life will continue. P.S. the "BHD" will be flashbacks. I own nothing and haven't the slightest whether or not this will be even half decent. * * indicate flashbacks.
Matt Eversmann after returning from Somalia, looked around the sleeping quarters he was assigned to at the base. He had returned to the U.S. only a few days ago. He was among the survivors of a U.S. military operation gone wrong in an attempt to put Somalian war lords out of commission. Matt didn't want to think of that now. So far the last couple of weeks had been spent carefully skirting around that time. Matt had been doing quite well until now he thought as he looked in the mirror with a forlorn sigh. Now was the time to go drink it all off before it got any worse.
Matt looked at the clock in the bar. He had been there for about an hour now and was beginning to feel rather intoxicated which he noted was a good thing. He was ready to go but didn't fancy driving home as drunk as he currently was. Luckily for him he had walked himself over not driven.
The walk home wasn't very lengthy. Very little time to think before he arrived home and fell asleep he reckoned looking down at the ground. He was getting sick of this routine he had thrown himself into. In a few days he would be doing he job again and couldn't afford to keep going on like this.
The alcohol finally begin to get him good as he fumbled with the lock to his sleeping quarters. He was glad he was home seeing as he could scarcely see let alone think in this state. After re-locking the door and taking his shoes off he stumbled into bed.
Matt woke up the next morning with a groan, those damn hangovers never ceased to get him. His head was throbbing pretty badly as he rolled over with a moan. He was in an odd state now half awake and half not as thoughts came to him that he would rather not have.
