Thalia walked alone. She had given up the hunt. Many of the other huntress' asked her why, but she did not answer them as she walked away from the camp site, never to be seen by the hunters again.
She walked for a few hours, then came upon camp half-blood. She took a deep breath and entered the camp. She was welcomed there, so not many campers were surprised to see her at camp. She visited often. But as she slowly walked towards her cabin, she heard someone behind her.
"Thalia? What are you doing here? You should of told me you were coming!" Then she was death-hugged by a very happy Annabeth. Thalia couldn't help but smile.
"Hey Annabeth." She said hugging her back. "How have thing been?"
"Eh...pretty boring around here lately. How has the hunter's been?" She asked. Great. The one question Thalia was trying to avoid. Her expression fell. "What's wrong?" Annabeth asked her.
"Annabeth, I left the hunt."
"Yo-You what?" She asked, shocked.
"I said I left the hunt." Thalia answered calmly.
"Wha- Why?"
Thalia shrugged. "Because I wanted to." There was no way she was going to tell Annabeth the real reason she left the hunt.
"So..." Annabeth said, trying to think of something to say.
"Relax, Annabeth. It'll be fun. I'll be here everyday to annoy you."
Annabeth laughed. "Great." She said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.
Thalia laughed also and then said "I'm going to go rest for a bit."
"Okay." Said Annabeth as she ran off, most likely to Percy.
Thalia sighed and walked into the Zeus cabin. The real reason she left the hunt. That thought stuck in her head. The true, real reason she left was to find love. Something she always wanted to do but never had the chance. Now, she did. She sighed and waited for it to get a little dark, before needing some fresh air. She got up and took a step outside. She started to walk towards the forest but saw a figure near the edge. As she got closer she saw it was a boy, soon realizing that it was none other that Nico di Angelo. She'd talked to him a few times, but never really got to know him. She decided it was time to do that. She took a deep breath, and walked up to him.
"Hey Nico." She said casually.
"Wha- oh, uh, hi Thalia." He shuttered. Was he nervous?
"What are you up to?" She asked sitting on a rock beside him.
"Nothing really." He said slowly, wondering what she wanted. "Why...?"
"What?" Thalia asked. "A girl can't make a decent conversation?"
He rolled his eyes. He's cute when he does that. Thalia thought.
"Well fine." He replied. "So how has the hunters been?" Again. This one question she did not want to hear.
"Nico..." She started. Why was she so nervous?
"Yes?" He asked concerned.
"I-I quit the hunters." She said almost below a whisper.
His eyes widened. "Why?" He asked. She looked into his eyes. Should I tell him the truth? She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I-I left because...for..." She couldn't say it. She looked down. The truth was she had feelings for him. That she tried to hide from herself, but couldn't.
She felt a light hand stroke her cheek. "Thalia..." She looked up at him again, his face was inches from hers. "Who'd you leave for?" He asked. She could feel his warm breath on her neck.
"You." She barely breathed before he kissed her with so much force she was almost knocked back. She snaked her arms around his neck and tangled them in his hair. She felt his rub her up and down her back. She finally pulled away to catch her breath, he leaned his forehead against hers. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for that. I love you, Thalia Grace." He said quietly. Thalia smiled."I love you too" They heard the horn for dinner and walked into the hall hold hands. Annabeth caught Thalia's eye and mouthed. "So that's why you left."
"Shut-up" Thalia mouth back. But she was smiling. She had finally heard those three little words.
