A/N: First Nick and Norah fic…I'm mixing book and movie verse, so don't freak out about the pairings. Tell me what you think! Enjoy!

Pairings: NickNorah, DevLethario(movie) and ThomToni(movie/book) Yeah…don't ask on the last one. I don't know.

"Being single sucks!" Thom exclaimed. Out of all the friends, he was the only one single. Nick had Norah, and Dev had Lethario. But where did this leave Thom? Alone and moping, watching the other happy couples live their happy lives. Great. Just great. Of course, there was no response to his outburst. There didn't need to be. They had heard it a thousand times.

Later on, after everyone else had gone home, Nick and Norah lingered.

"You know," Norah began, "We should totally get Thom a guy. I'm sick of him moping around."

"Yeah, we should. What about that old friend of yours. Ya know, from that club the night we met?" Nick asked.

"You mean Toni?" Norah laughed. Tony/Toni/Tone' was Norah's drag queen friend who worked at a club nearby. Toni was currently single too. Norah laughed at the prospect. She wasn't sure how Thom and Toni would react. Still, what did they have to lose?

"Yeah," Nick said, "Stop laughing, it's not funny!"

"I never said it was," she began, "Aw, what the hell! Sure, let's try it!"

And so their plan was hatched.

By the next week, everything was in place. Nick had talked to Thom about the prospect of setting him up on a blind date "in appreciation for Thom getting Nick's ass in gear and getting him to work up the courage to start something with Norah."

In turn, Norah had showed up at the club and talked to Toni about setting her up with a guy she knew "through a friend." Toni was all for it, although looking a little wary of the idea.

Thom had cleaned up a bit, ditching his sweatshirt, (but not without a little pushing and shoving on his friend's parts) and had even worn a nice pair of jeans and dressy-ish shoes. Norah wasn't quite sure, but she was fairly certain that Toni had gotten dressed up too.

All the drive there, Thom had freaked out a bit.

"Calm down man, trust me. Everything will be fine. After all, things started completely randomly with me and Norah and everything's turned out alright, right?" Nick attempted to comfort his friend.

"Yeah, you're right. This can't be all bad. I mean, who knows what'll happen?" Thom had said, although his voice squeaked a little from nervousness.

Soon enough, they had reached the allotted meeting place. Thom stepped out of the Yugo, took a deep breath, and walked toward his unknown setup.
