INCREASED WORK OF BREATHING

Dean struggled to inhale and banish the circling dots encroaching on his vision. A distant voice pierced through the buzzing in his ears.
"Just take a breath, Dean. C'mon, just one."
Pleading eyes rolled wildly toward Sam.
"I know you can do it. C'mon!"
Hot hands pressed against Dean's cold cheeks.
"Look at me, Dean. Look. In. Out. In. Out. Match my breaths. Yeeeaaahh—that's it. You got it."
Some of the panic faded from Dean's face as his body got oxygenated.
"Better?"
"Yeah," Dean breathed out slowly.
"Shit. Don't scare me like that again!"
