Trelawny really is off her rocker, Draco Malfoy muttered in his head. The war had ended six months ago and he had come back to Hogwarts to continue his education. Luckily, Scarhead, excuse me, Harry didn't come this year because he wanted to spend "much needed time with his girlfriend". The blood traitor friend, Ron, didn't come either because he had spontaneously fallen in love with Looney Lovegood and wanted to take time off with her too. Only Granger came back. He didn't mind her being there. He didn't want to admit that there was a parade of cheers when he found out of her returning.
"How in Merlin's name, is drawing a smiley face related to Divination?" Draco cried aloud and the old, batty librarian shushed him fiercely.
"I don't know either but the class was required." A voice agreed from behind him. He knew that voice. He dropped his quill and turned around in his chair.
"At least you can draw, you can do everything." Draco moaned, covering his eyes from the lights and from the intensity of her gaze.
"What makes you say that?" Hermione asked indignantly.
"Well, let's see. In your first year, you discovered a riddle that was almost too complicated for most teachers, in your second year, you discovered that the creature petrifying all the students was a basilisk, in your third year, you took two sets of classes and travelled back in time again and again, in your fourth year, you helped Harry figure out the tasks. Need I go on?" Draco recalled and she blushed. Her face looked angelic, really.
"I've done a few things, yes, but what makes you think I can draw?" Hermione asked again, finally taking a seat next to him. Draco raised his eyebrow and she turned an ever deeper shade of red.
"Alright, I can draw." The brunette confessed angrily.
That's why Draco smirked his famous Malfoy smirk. "Told you that you're perfect."
"You didn't say that i'm perfect." Hermione said in a small voice. Draco almost sank through his chair in embarrassment.
"W-W-Well, you-you are. You're sma-smart and kind and honest and beautiful." The blonde stuttered.
"Here let me help you." Hermione offered, saving Draco from further embarrassment and scooting closer.
Draco picked up the quill in his shaking hands and placed his hand on the paper. Hermione rested her hand over his and looked over at him, as if asking: Is this okay?
This was perfectly okay for one Draco Malfoy. He let her lead his hand across the paper, making short little lines and large dots. He wasn't watching the paper though, he was watching the concentration on her face.
"I love you," Draco whispered, positive that she didn't hear him. Her head snapped up to look at him, her chocolate almond shaped eyes burning into his slightly narrower grey ones.
She did hear him. He widened his eyes and looked quickly at the paper.
"That's a nice smiley face." Draco observed politely. He looked back up to see her eyes locked on where his face had been, her eyes brimming with tears, whether they be of happiness or sadness or fear.
Sighing, he closed his notebook and slid his books in his bag. He could've sworn he heard her say, "I love you, too".
The tiny bit of Dramione fluff for their shippers. Honestly, I'm not a shipper myself because I prefer her with Ron but I don't mind the ocasional change. If you wanted to know, my friend illustrated the smiley face, I wrote the words and did the awkwardly placed face at the bottom. I am not a good drawer, even at smiley faces. This is my first one-shot, please review,
