LORRAINE: I apologize.
DETECTIVE: So, you did that, Lorraine? You killed them?
LORRAINE: No.
DETECTIVE: Oh, then why are you apologizing?
LORRAINE: It's the polite thing to do when tragedy strikes.
DETECTIVE: Do you know what happened, Lorraine?
LORRAINE: Yes.
DETECTIVE: What happened, then?
LORRAINE: Death.
DETECTIVE: Did you see what happened?
LORRAINE: Yes.
DETECTIVE: I need you to tell me, Lorraine. Or I can't help you.
LORRAINE: Fate. Fate did it. It caught up. That's what happens when...
DETECTIVE: When what, Lorraine?
LORRAINE: When you're bad. When you make mistakes. When you screw the world over.
DETECTIVE: Did they hurt you, Lorraine?
LORRAINE: No.
DETECTIVE: Please, just tell me what happened.
LORRAINE: He did it. It was his fault.
DETECTIVE: His?
LORRAINE: Yes.
DETECTIVE: Your father?
LORRAINE: No.
DETECTIVE: Then who?
LORRAINE: Him... They did it to themselves.. Their fates...

Shifting her weight foot to foot, an older woman turned, facing the small group of men behind her. A sigh escaped her lips. "We aren't getting anywhere, are we?"
"There is obviously something wrong with her." One replied.
"But what?"
"Who knows... I've never really... Seen this before. Unless you count television."
"This is becoming a waste of time... It sounds like a murder-suicide. Thats all I can come up with."
As soon as the woman finished that sentence, the man who had been questioning the girl for the past hour relieved himself of his duty, exiting the room the dark-haired girl sat in. "I've got nothing, Linda."
"We'll just have to take what we've got... Call someone up to take her back down to her cell. We're finished for now." Linda mumbled in disappointment, waving a hand at one of the men, turning to leave through a second door, her entourage behind her.
The door was shoved open before she could lay her hand upon the handle and another young man stumbled forth slightly, catching his footing as he came to a sudden stop.
Raising an inquisitive eyebrow, Linda questioned, "What is it?"
"They're not her family," came the reply.
