Ep 1: time travel is complex
A blonde-headed girl sat up and took a look around. She frowned as she realized that she wasn't in her bed—where she should've been. Instead she sat in the bed that was covered with soft, plush pillows. At first she didn't think to much about her new surroundings, but then she realized how different the atmosphere was around her. Everything was pitch black, like someone had only just turned off the lights and she was still waiting for her eyes to adjust. That sounded like a decent plan.
She waited, picking her blonde curls away from her neck and waiting for her eyes to become accustomed to the blackness. A minute passed, then five more.
Just where the hell am I? She wondered, panic already settling in the back of her mind. The last thing she remembered was spending the night with her family in their house. Nothing had happened that was out of the ordinary. She had talked with her parents and she helped her brothers and sisters with their homework, and then... She went outside.
Oh. That's right. There was a car. She didn't remember the exact color scheme of the car, but there was a car, yes, she was certain of it. Was it this car? She looked down out the window she could see cars were one of them the case, a frown of thought formed on her face. Yes definitely. The car had swerved off the road and right into her. She had barely enough time to register what was happening before it hit, breaking bones and causing other injuries that she seemed to be healed of now. The fact she didn't seem to be affected by these injuries made her frown in confusion. Had she imagined the accident?
She decided she should take her chances with climbing off the bed. One leg at a time, she heaved herself over the side and let her feet rest on the ground. She felt reassured slightly when her feet came into contact with firm hard wood. Everything was so black, it was hard to tell what was around her, so she hadn't even been sure there was solid ground behind the truck.
A light flashed in the hard floor she remembered she had been watching tv then went out to get food and a car hit her before disappearing with her. Kinda like a time. Her bones had definitely shattered but somehow she healed it was as if she was unable to die.
"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't see you I was gonna take you to the hospital but you didn't seem hurt at all oh my gush how old are you? Should I contact-." she quickly cut her off she couldn't let her contect a fake number and she know who this women was black hair old fashioned clothes her eyes looked brown but she may have been mistaken. She was Martha Wayne.
She had traveled both back in time and to Martha's home damision.
"Uh no I'm 23." She quickly said she didn't come from a big home her mother only had her so she could lie a bit. And she wasn't about to tell her she was only 14 she was tall had big breast and looked then she should have. So she lied to her of course she looked like her father a bit she had his brown eyes and skin tone was pale but she was curvy, also muscler a bit like the hero's she saw on tv.
"Oh I see sorry….hey as an apology for running you over how about I hire you as our nanny see we've been needing one for our son Bruce." Martha smiled sweetly at her.
"I'd love that. Oh by the way I'm Marissa. Marissa Van Helsing. I left Transylvania to work in Gotham." Marissa tried her best not to feel bad for lying but telling her she was from another world could end her up in Arkham Asylum.
"Your English is really good," Martha said. "Have you been in the country long?"
"Yes." She answered she smiled at her the best she could.
Martha smiled and said, "My son's in his room playing. Would you like to meet him?"
"I'd love to." Marissa smiled she and Martha walked to a room were a young boy was playing.
"Mommy!" The boy said and ran over to hug his mother.
The future Batman just said mommy it was kinda cute.
"Bruce, this is Marissa. She's going to be your new nanny," Martha told her son while showing her to him. "Say hello, honey."
Bruce held his mother and shyly said, "Hello."
"Hello. It's so nice to meet. You remind me of a young bat like in the castles in my home country." She said sweetly her family did come from Transylvania but she lived in America for a long time.
"Weren't you scared? Bats are scary," Bruce wondered.
"they can be but there also quite amazing there so quick. And catch bugs so no I'm not scared of bats. When I was younger I even had a pet bat. His name was Jeevani." Marissa told his with a smile. She had taken many different fighting styles over the years so she wasn't afraid of bats.
"Bats sound cool," said Bruce with a smile.
She giggled and nodded she had an idea. "How about we play superheroes you can be whoever you want and I'll play a villain for you to chase."
"Okay!" Bruce cheered. He put on a gray hat, a pair of fake glasses, and a gray cape. "I am the Gray Ghost! And you're going to jail, bad guy!"
She smiled happily. "You will never catch me, Gray Ghost." she declared running off. The boy chased after her.
Martha laughed as she watched them play. Alfred watched the scene as well with a smile.
"It appears the young master has found a playmate who can keep up with his pace," said Alfred.
"He sure has," said Martha. "And you have some help taking care of him."
- a few months later-
"Okay, Bruce, stand in the middle with your parents while I take the picture." Marissa said with a cheerful smile.
"Okay!" Bruce cheered as he stood with his parents. "Ready!"
She had to enjoy how cheerful the young boy was he was turning 9 and she was turning 15 she did feel a little older but not by much. "Ok say bats everyone."
"Bats!" The family said while smiling. She took there picture and smiled the year now was 1988 the young Bruce Wayne wasn't far away from losing his parents. Which was pretty sad.
"Thank you for doing this, Marissa," Thomas said in a grateful way. "I can't tell you how happy I am that we met you."
"I'm happy to have met you as well." She said with a sweet smile.
"You'll be at the party, right?" Thomas whispered.
"I wouldn't miss Bruce's birthday for the world." She said with a sweet smile. She inwardly wish time would stop.
"Great!" Said Thomas. "We just need to get everything ready. Think you could help Alfred while we keep him occupied?"
"Of course." She smiled
"Thanks," said Thomas. "Come on, Bruce. Let's go so we can catch the movie."
"Sweet!" Bruce cheered and then went to catch up with his dad.
She smiled once more watching the boy walk off she coughed a bit. It was as if her body had become weak all of sudden.
"Are you alright, Marissa?" Alfred asked in concern. She fell to the floor before she could answer her cheeks were flushed her head was hot.
Alfred quickly caught her and rushed her over to her bed. He tucked her in and then went for the phone to call a doctor.
-doctors visit-
The doctor looked completely puzzled. "It's as if her white blood cells are attacking something but as far as I can tell there's nothing there to attack.."
"Is there any way to help her?" Alfred asked.
"I'm not sure maybe they'll correct themselves but right now she seems fine she has no illness just a fever and slight weakness." The doctor said looking at the forgener for a moment.
"I see. Well, thank you anyway," said Alfred. "She's like an older sister to the young master."
"I see well if she gets worse call me again….I dearly hope she get better.." The doctor said looking at the young girl once more before leaving.
"I will," said Alfred. "Thank you."
-at the party-
The adults were chatting with the Wayne's while Bruce sat there looking concerned. "She's not gonna die right?"
The question hung in the air young Bruce had asked Alfred this he was unsure how to answer.
"No, honey," Martha kindly told her son. "Marissa's not gonna die. She's just sick."
Bruce still looked concerned but accepted her answer. Though he was still concerned.
"Tell you what, I'll take you to see her," Martha offered.
"Ok."
-months later-
It took her a month to get over whatever happened but she was happy she was better. It was Christmas so she was pretty excited until Bruce got angry at the gift he had gotten. He was acting selfish.
"How come I didn't get the Gray Ghost action figure?!" He asked.
Marissa sighed she watched his parents explain that they were sold out. The toy his father had given him was on the floor broken she looked sadly at it. "Hey Bruce I know it's not fair but they can't do anything if they were sold out. Besides I haven't gave you my gift."
Bruce sighed and said, "Alright. What is it?"
She pulled out a small case Bruce opened it was a small locket. "It's a locket it has everyone in it you your mom your dad and me and Alfred."
"Aren't lockets for girls?" Bruce asked, unsure.
"I don't think so look on the front it has a bat on it." Marissa smiled happily as she put it around Bruce's neck. "There now you can see us all the time."
Bruce looked at it, still unsure what to think about wearing jewelry. That was when his mother gave him a look like she wanted him to thank her for it.
"This is stupid. I'm not wearing it." He throw it to the ground and stormed off.
"Bruce!" Martha shouted angrily as he walked off. She groaned in frustration and then turned back to Marissa. "I'm so sorry, Marissa."
"It's ok I….." She tried her best not to look sad but then she began coughing again.
"No. It's not okay," Thomas said as he picked up the locket. He hugged her and said, "What you gave him was very thoughtful. Bruce just doesn't understand. But I think I have an idea to turn this around."
"What?" Martha asked.
"There's a showing tonight of the Gray Ghost movie," Thomas told his wife with a smile. "How about you and I take Bruce?"
Martha thought about it. And then she said, "Alright. But he better apologize to Marissa afterwards."
"It's 'cough' it's okay." She must've been getting ill again.
"Let me help you to bed," Alfred offered, holding out his hand.
"Thank you." She took his hand as he walked to her to bed.
- a few hours later-
Marissa opened her eyes and looked around. It was dark out. She looked at her clock and saw that it was ten o'clock. She hoped she didn't miss dinner. She got out of bed and left the room. That was when she heard Alfred.
"Oh god, no! What about the young master?! Is he alright?! Oh thank god! I'll be right over!" Alfred said over the phone.
Her blood went cold she looked at Alfred as if fear ran up her body. He ran to get his jacket and saw Marissa.
"Marissa, something terrible has happened," he sadly told her. "Master Thomas and Madam Martha are dead!"
Her eyes watered the world felt cold her body shook before she fell to her knees. The pain in her chest burned it was almost to much to bear she had gotten to know them. She felt like they were family.
Alfred saw this and hugged her. "I'm so sorry. But we can mourn later, Master Bruce needs us now. He's still alive and waiting for us."
"Right." She got to her feet and walked with Alfred to go to the police station where the young Bruce was.
-Gotham police station-
She walked over to master Bruce her sad smile formed on her face as she hugged the little boy. "You're not hurt are you."
Bruce hugged her back and cried on her shoulder. "It's my fault. It's my fault. I caused this!"
Alfred put a hand on Bruce's head as he cried. "It's not your fault, master Bruce. You did nothing wrong."
"It was all because I was upset over a toy!" Bruce cried harder.
Marissa heart went out to the little boy. "It's ok it wasn't your fault. Sometimes in the world others can be overly cruel. But no matter what if there's bad guys in the world there are heroes."
"I haven't seen one around here," Bruce said, sniffling.
"Well maybe Gotham needs one." She rubbed his head encouragingly.
Bruce was still sniffling. But he looked up at Marissa and said, "I'm sorry. And thank you. The locket you gave me is in my room at home."
"It's fine you're a good kid." She smiled at him.
- 2 years later-
Marissa was working on something years ago she had seen a anime called Attack on Titan so she was trying to copy the invention. The steel cable winded around the wheel she put a special fiber around it to prevent heat from rising inside the device the best was made to not only allow the body to be flinged upwards but grapbel onto the the building quickly so you wouldn't fall to your death.
"Can I use it too?" Bruce asked staring at the gear.
"I have to test it before I let anyone use it I'm planning on working on it further but. I have a trip I'm going on in Japan would you like to come with? There's a great ninja master there who could be very helpful." She said with a cheerful smile. She put the gear down before picking up Bruce she still hasn't aged after she turned 16 it was worrying her a bit.
"Sure," Bruce said with a smile. "I'm sure we could get Alfred to arrange a flight for us."
"I hope your right if not I might have to try to convince him to come here." She smiled rubbing his hair she knew Bruce would begin training all over the world but for her she memorized things so easily.
"I'm going to be Gotham's hero," Bruce declared in a serious tone.
"Hum really." She smiled then took his little hand. "Then you'll need to train really hard and remember this isn't for revenge this is for justice ok."
"Okay," Bruce said with a smile. He reached into his shirt and pulled out his bat locket. "Justice."
-Japen a year later-
She was sitting she and bruce had been training with the ninja master for a year his name was Lin Fang. He was pretty amazing so were the students yet still she seemed to be more focused on her still not ageing while Bruce was sprouting like a weed.
"Miss Van Helsing," the master said. "Young Bruce is making excellent progress."
"Yes I know he is something else." She smiled watching as Bruce moved in sync with the class this place was full of people who would eventually go off to be ninjas or assassins in one place or another but it also gave more than just death discipline and strength was only the first things Bruce would learn. And her as well.
"He has so much potential," Master Fang said with a proud smile. "I bet he could even be a master himself someday."
"I'm sure he will I'm learning a lot here as well." She went over to the bag she had brought and worked on the gear she was building before the thrust didn't work like she planned but she had a back up plan but forcing the air to cool through the small engine she had built inside it should work sorta like it did in the show and not harm her in the process.
"I've noticed," said Master Fang. "Tell me, are you two planning on becoming assassins? Ninjas maybe?"
"Hum let's say we're planning on making sure we do something amazing." She tweaked the gear a little more it looked almost ready.
"So plan to become guardians, then?" He asked looking confused.
"Maybe." She smirked as the students stopped she got up to get Bruce a smile formed on her face.
"Master Fang says I'm making a lot of progress," Bruce happily said. The master smiled marissa watched as the young Bruce was talked to.
"Yes. You're doing well we can start your physical endurance tomorrow. This will teach you to control how your body reacts." He said in a serious tone while looking at Bruce.
"Right," Bruce said in a serious tone. "I'm ready."
-4 years later-
She had finally finished her gear when it happened. Bruce was learning from their recent master who was showing him the insides and out of how crime worked learning how the crime world worked her body had suddenly felt very hot her body started to glow.
"Marissa! What's going on?! What's happening?!" Bruce asked fearfully.
She didn't know she reached out trying to get to him but she disappeared in a flash the now 16 year old boy watched in horror as the woman who raised her disappeared.
"Marissa? Marissa! Where are you?!" He screamed into the abyss.
-16 years later Gotham April 5th-
Marissa felt herself land on the strong ground her bag on her back and her gear connected and ready to go. Her heart sank she needed to figure what just happened.
"Okay. Let's see. You were feeling sick. And then you glowed. And now you're back in Gotham city," Marissa said to herself as she walked out of the alley. She came out and found a few things that she never saw before. "That cafe wasn't there before. And there didn't used to be a store there. And I'm pretty sure that used to be a bakery and not a jewelry store. How long were Bruce and I gone?"
That was when she spotted a news stand and ran over to buy a paper. The date was always printed on those, so this would help.
"Excuse me. Could I get the Gotham Times?" Marissa asked politely.
"Sure," the guy said while grabbing the paper. She quickly paid the man and looked at the date it said 2010….. "Wait this makes no sense it should be...which means I traveled in time…..crap I left Bruce alone and I still look like a 23 year old who's actually 15 still." she groaned this was bad seriously bad.
"Give me your money, dirtbag!" A male voice yelled. Marissa turned around and found a man with a gun trying to rob the news stand.
She needed to do something she looked at her gear she hadn't tested it yet…..but it was now or never she held the handle gear and flew through the air with the quick grapplers before slamming down and knocking the gun with her dull blades.
"What the?!" The robber asked in shock.
The metal grapplers quickly unhooked from the wall and she fell downwards hitting him quickly in the back before landing on the ground with a back flip. Her feet planted firmly on the man's back.
"That was impressive. Almost reminded me of someone else," said a man's voice.
A man then stepped out of the shadows. He was fairly tall and was dressed all in black. The upper half of his face was concealed by a mask, a mask that looked like a bat's head. His outfit also came with a long black cape, almost like wings.
"Long time no see, Marissa," said the batman.
She smiled instantly hugging the man in the bats outfit. "I can't believe this. You're all grown up."
"And you haven't aged a day," said the batman looking a little concerned.
"Hey, do you know Batman, lady?" The newsstand owner asked.
"From the past, yes," said Batman. "The police will be here for this thug. I'm gonna help this young lady out."
She looked at him for a moment as he and her went back into the ally way. Her heart thumped as they got into a car she quickly buckled her seat belt her gear was a little pinch though.
Batman started the car and drove off. As he drove, he removed his mask and revealed his face. He was older now, but it was clear that this was Bruce Wayne.
"I'm sorry I disappeared. I don't know what happened." She said sadly.
"I'm not angry at you," Bruce said in a friendly way. "I'm a little surprised to see you now. And looking the same as you were then. And I'm curious how you knew it was me."
"I know the little boy I raised. It's not hard to tell and as for the same age thing well I may look 23 but I'm not….I kinda lied to your mother…." Marissa nervously said twiddling with her index fingers. "I mean biologically I'm 15 but I'm older way older."
"This is getting pretty complicated," said Bruce. "We're here."
She nodded sighing as they exited the car she saw a boy maybe two years younger then her. She instantly know it was Robin aka Dick Grayson.
"Who's this? And why did you let her see your face?! I thought you were more careful!" Robin barked.
"I'm his nanny." Marissa said with a smirk.
Robin laughed and said, "Yeah right. You're way too young. You're like in your early twenties. He's older than you. If you told me you were his daughter, I might believe that."
"I'm 15 but I did get to drink alcohol because they thought I was 23…."
"Bruce, is she for real?" Robin asked looking unconvinced.
"Yes," said Bruce. He pulled the locket out of his utility belt and opened it. Inside were pictures of his parents, Alfred, and Marissa. "Marissa gave me this for Christmas when I was nine; I didn't react well to it at first, but that's beside the point."
"React well? As I remember you throw it on the ground." Marissa giggled a little.
Bruce frowned at the memory. "Not the point," he said. "She put her picture inside with ones of my parents and Alfred. And this Marissa looks exactly like her. In addition, that gear she made was designed by Marissa herself. She only made one. Finally, just now, she remembered my reaction that Christmas. There's no way she could've gotten that information anywhere other than from here."
"How do you know?" Robin asked.
"Because Alfred and I don't really talk about that day much," said Bruce.
"Seriously this kids way to suspicious." She said in a normal tone. "What have you been teaching him?"
"Can't blame a guy for being suspicious when I'm meeting a girl who says she's his childhood nanny when she looks young enough to be his daughter or his sister," Robin retorted.
"Dick, enough," Bruce said.
Ok it was best to come up with a story….wait. She pulled out a knife. "Years ago my family disappeared I tried to look for them so I traveled to a castle quite well known. Legend said a creature known as a vampire was rumoured to live there so I went what I found was a tablet."
"And that tablet made it so you don't age right?" Robin asmed, trying to understand.
"More than that." she really hoped she was right she slit her own throat. Drops of blood fell to the floor horrifying the boy but the wound quickly healed.
"Oh my God," Robin gasped.
"You're immortal," said Bruce.
"Quite bluntly yes. When I read the tablet it did something to me and so I stopped ageing at 15." she said she took a huge breath as she continued. "That was 400 years ago."
Bruce put his hands on her shoulders and said, "I know a man who might be able to help you if you want. His name is Kent Nelson. He knows almost everything about the mystic arts."
She felt nervous but decided it was best to keep it up even if she hated it. "Ok we can try."
"Assuming you can get a hold of him," Robin reminded Bruce. "Remember all the trips he takes and how long he can be gone?"
"I see your point," said Bruce. "And it doesn't seem like you've been negatively affected thus far. I guess that can wait."
"Hold on I got an idea." Marissa remembered something. She put down her bag and pulled out a old book. "This might help. Lets try a spell."
Her body started glowing as she spoke out the words. "Seye ruo erofeb emoh siht ot tnek sa nwonk eno eht gnirb."
A portal opened before pulling an older gentlemen out and into the cave she was floating over the before she fell to the ground.
"Alert, who did that?!" He angrily asked. "I may have been Doctor Fate, but I'm an old man!"
"Sorry, Kent," said Bruce in an apologetic tone. "Marissa here needs some help, and you're the best in terms of mystic arts."
"You couldn't have called Zatara?" Kent asked in annoyance.
"This might be out of Zatara's area," said Bruce.
"Try ancient tablet from vampire castle." Robin said crossing his arms.
"Marissa may look young, but she's over 400 years old," Bruce explained. "She came into contact with the tablet at 15."
Kent seemed to understand the story. "It sounds to me like Marissa found the Tablet of Dracula."
"Wait he's real?!" the younger boy said in a shock.
"Yes," said Kent. Took a moment to explain "But not in that way. Vampires are not what you would think. They are much like magic users with a different kinda blood. Ancient blood that allowed him to live so long but this magic requires him to drink life energy as in blood."
"So what could that tablet have done to her?" Bruce asked.
"It could've stored Dracula and his descendants Ancient blood in hopes to make the next purblood vampire." Kent said concerned. "An immortal one."
"So Marissa's a vampire?" Robin asked.
"A pure blood one yes," Kent corrected him. "They drink blood but they also eat food and other things and unlike vampires they can walk in daylight have souls and can drain blood energy through touch or heal others from illnesses and give birth."
"Is there anyway to make Marissa a human?" Bruce asked.
"If the legend about the tablet is true it would take unimaginable magic….it's just not possible… but the bright side you know why she got sick now the blood magic core is draining her blood because it has no new energy."
"So just make sure she has blood energy and she'll at least be healthy?" Bruce asked.
"Basically yes or have her drink blood."
Bruce removed his glove and held his hand out to Marissa. "Let's test it."
"No. No. No." Marissa calmly said.
"Its natural just feel the energy flow into you." Kent said in a simple tone.
"I'm not testing I basically raised him. I'm not taking blood energy from him." She coldy responded crossing her arms.
They suddenly heard an alarm. Robin turned on the monitor. "Looks like the Riddler decided to cause trouble."
Batman looked at Marissa and said, "Test with him. But only long enough to weaken. Don't kill him."
"I'm the one who told you justice not revenge. You really think I'd do that?" She asked crossing her arms.
"Sorry. I guess I was just remembering when Robin and I found a particular group," Batman said while putting his glove and hood back on.
"Those men murdered my parents! Sorry if I was still angry!" Robin shouted in defense. "And need I remind you, we did capture them?"
"If it makes you feel better this is actually necessary. She will get to a point she would be in extreme pain to the point she could die….pretty much the only way she would it would be agonizing though." Kent said flinching as he remembered seeing it happen to a very wounded one.
Bruce grabbed a bat themed mask and handed it to her. "This mask will conceal your identity. Don't want the media swarming you on the streets."
"Couldn't I just use a cloak." She sighed sadly at him.
"Okay," said Bruce. And then he grabbed a cloak from the wall.
She took it and cloaked herself in it she sighed. "So why Batman might I ask?"
"I was inspired in part by the bats I found in this cave," Batman explained as the three went to the car. "My other inspiration was my sister figure who taught how amazing bats are."
She smiled. "I'm happy I inspired you then."
"So you were the inspiration," Robin said as they drove. "I always thought he just had a bat fetish."
"Kid, I may be stuck at fifteen, but that doesn't mean I can't come back there and spank you." She commented calmly crossing her legs.
"What?" Robin asked.
"Alright, you two, enough," said Batman. "I'm the one behind the wheel."
"I was the one to teach you how to drive if you remember correctly." She hummed sweetly.
"Always have," said Bruce, smiling.
"This is so weird." Robin said crossing his arms.
"I assume there's a story behind him being here," Marissa said, pointing at Robin.
"There is. I'll tell when we get home," said Batman.
They stopped they quickly got out and there and behold was the Riddler.
"Riddle me this, how many sidekicks does Batman need to capture me, the Riddler?" The Riddler asked in a taunting manner. "Apparently two. And one appears to be a girl with a hood."
She hesitated at first but nodded to Batman. She jumped into action going at him she only needed one touch and feel the energy drain. The Riddler dodged her ancil strike before her touched his face a red glow shined as she quickly pulled away…. The energy went to her chest as Riddler spoke.
"Riddle me this what drains something red and makes you feel weak…." He groaned and fell to the ground. "Seriously, why am I feeling so weak? What the hell are you?"
"All you need to know is that she just beat you," Robin taunted. "And you're going to jail."
"I'm wearing gloves from now on just saying that." Marissa commented calmly.
"How do you feel?" Batman asked her.
"Lively. A lot more than I have been in years." Marissa commented smiling slightly.
"Nice work, Batman," said commissioner Jim Gordon while his men took the Riddler.
"Actually, it was her," said Batman, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I didn't realize you had another sidekick," said Gordon, looking at the girl. "Got a name?"
Marissa crossed her arms. "My name's…Vampirica."
"And she's not my sidekick, she's freelance. I'm sorry, sir, but we have to go," said Batman. "Let's go, you two."
The two of them jumped back into the car with Batman and drove. "Sidekick I'm way older than you."
"Tell him that," said Batman. "If you want to be a hero, you'll need to get experience."
"How about the team and I bring her along on our next mission?" Robin suggested.
"Ok question one who's the team and two do I have to tell them I'm immortal being that drains blood and used to be his nanny." Marissa asked raising her hand at the comment.
"That's kind of a long story," Batman said sighing. "I guess I should start by saying there have been a lot of changes over the years. One being that I'm a part of an elite group of heroes called the Justice League."
"Well I can be your sidekick then….and your daughter." Marissa commented sweetly. "I mean we kinda look alike a bit."
"I guess so," said Batman seeing where she was going with this. "Back to the story. Aquaman, the Flash, Green Arrow, and myself recently deemed our sidekicks, or proteges, ready to visit the Hall of Justice."
"But Speedy, Green Arrow's sidekick, was pretty angry about not being able to visit the real HQ. So he threw a tantrum and quit," Robin said while laughing. "In hindsight, it's kinda funny because he's older than the rest of us and you would expect him to be more mature."
"I'm older than all of you." Marissa commented with a laughed. "And I still act like a teen."
"Anyway, while the leaguers took care of a major problem, Aqualad, Kid Flash and I checked out Cadmus," Robin continued. "From there we dug up a lot of secret genetic work, including a clone of Superman."
"Are any of these guys cute? Just curious."
"I'll bring up a picture," Robin said as he pressed a button on his glove. He brought up a holoscreen with a group photo. "The redhead's Kid Flash, Aqualad's the guy with dark skin, Superboy's the one wearing the black shirt, the green girl is another new friend, Miss Martian, and the blonde chick is our newest member, Artemis."
"Okay lots of cuties….nice….so I can kinda can guess the rest of it you got out got back talked by your mentors and rebelled so to keep an eye on you they made a team."
Batman and Robin looked surprised. "That's right," said Batman.
"Yeah it's kinda obvie… so when can I meet them? Tomorrow?" She exactly asked leaning in a bit.
"Since you're so enthusiastic, alright," said Batman. "I'll go with you and Robin to introduce you."
-The next day-
The group gathered around as Batman came in. He pressed a few buttons on the keyboard before standing next to the portal.
"Recognized: Vampirica B04. Authorization: Batman 02," the computer said and then a new being came in. A girl wearing a cloak and a cat mask black leather boots and her Attack on Titan gear with a new utility belt. Plus gloves
The kids looked confused. "Uh who is she?" Superboy asked crossing his arms.
"Team, meet Vampirica, your new teammate, and my daughter." Batman introduced.
"You have a daughter?!" Kid Flash asked in shock.
"Yes." Batman said in a neutral tone.
"Well, nice to meet you," said Miss Martian in a friendly way. "I'm M'gann. M'gann M'orzz. The guy who just flipped out is Wally West."
"Nice to meet you I was sorta already informed on you all." Marissa sheepishly said pulling back the cloaks hood.
"Probably not our real name's," said Aqualad. "I'm Kaldur'ahm. But my friends call me Kaldur."
"Actually pretty much Batman was very detailed on his debrief."
"So you already know Artemis here is Green Arrow's new protege?" Wally asked, pointing to the blonde girl.
"Yes I was very informed on her. Batman plans on having me taught by a few of your mentors as well." She said in a friendly tone; Batman's exact plan was to have her work with those leaguers to get used to being teamed up with them from time to time.
"You might have a hard time keeping up with my mentor," Wally cockily said.
"I'm sure my AOT gear can help with that." She said patting her sides.
"Those look cool," Artemis commented with interest. "Make em yourself?"
"Yes. Took me awhile to test them though."
"They look pretty cool," Artemis said with a smile. "How effective are they in battle?"
"I can show you but we'd need a little more open space." She said smiling.
"Hello, Megan!" M'gann said out loud. "Let's go outside!"
-outside-
She got into position she pressed a button. And the grapplers slammed into the hard wood of the nearest tree she was pulled forward as steam pushed upwards she used what she was grappled into and jumped using the grapplers again which quickly unhooked and rehooked into the nearest area after pushing the button on a another tree she flow downward with the strong metal wire and used the swords hitting the tree before jumping backwards releasing the the grapplers and landing on the ground.
Everyone clapped after she was done. "That was awesome!" Kid Flash cheered.
"You were amazing!" M'gann cheered.
"Oh thanks. I made this to allow myself to move around quickly and attack just as fast." She patted her device proudly.
"Kinda like Batman and Robin. I'm impressed," Artemis said with a smile.
"Thanks." She said cheerfully. She smiled keeping sheathing her blunt blades.
Aqualad walked up to Marissa and said, "As team leader, I would like to officially welcome you aboard, Vampirica."
"Thanks." Marissa smiled this day would definitely be interesting.
