She had never felt more alone, it wasn't meant to be like this, end like this.
Moving from Cisco everything was meant to change, Emily was gone now and she wasn't meant to be replaced. Grissom should have changed it, she was meant to fall in love with him and they were meant to live happily ever after, meant to have children who were meant to grow up loving science and life, with happy, loving parents. That was how everything was planned out.
Then she meet Catherine, oh god, all that stunning natural beauty, even the way her hips moved when she walked, so much grace, charisma. Everybody loved her, her dancing days had given her the air of confidence that followed her into even the darkest situations.
That wasn't meant to happen, her sexuality wasn't meant to get in the way, she thought she could forget about her attraction to other women by falling in love with a man, Grissom, his emotional detachment and lack of charisma meant she didn't need to contribute as much to the relationship.
