As Virginia and Wolf return to the apartment where Virginia once lived with her father, it finally hit her: she lived through and survived what felt like an eternity in the nine kingdoms. She could hardly believe what she lived through when she took the time to think of it. If it weren't for the fact that she had fallen in love with Wolf and carried his child, she would have thought she had awoken from a bad dream.
She sunk into the couch, which gave a familiar painful creak. She started to rub her stomach thoughtfully, slowly drifting into the realm of her own mind.
"We did it," Virginia mused out loud, leaning on the arm of the couch.
"Did what?" Wolf asked, slightly confused.
"Survived," Virginia responded dreamily. Wolf nodded with a small smile, instantly knowing what she was talking about. Their travels in the nine kingdoms were fresh in their minds, so no questions were necessary to clarify the situation.
"That's quite a feat, isn't it?" He said with a contented sigh.
"I guess it is," she said, swelling with pride.
"You guess?" A toothy grin spread across his face as soon as she finished speaking.
"I'm pretty sure it's one of the most thrilling things I've ever done in my entire life," Virginia said, enthusiasm apparent in her voice.
"That's what I thought," said Wolf, kissing the top of Virginia's head lovingly.
