I Wouldn't Mind

"Killua!" Gon yelled, as he ran down the hall of the hotel room they were staying in. "Killu-AH!" He tripped and fell on his face, but he bounced right back up. "Killua!"

"Yeah, yeah, I hear you!" Killua replied from the kitchen. He was trying to put together a breakfast out of the stuff they bought from the grocery store, but in all honesty, he was about to give up and call room service.

"Come here!" Gon said excitedly as he grabbed Killua's hand and yanked him towards the living room. He jumped onto the couch and pulled Killua with him, but he yanked a little too hard and Killua landed on top of Gon. Killua blushed, still not used to all the physical contact, but it was second nature to Gon. Gon leaned forward and kissed him on the nose before pushing Killua into a sitting position.

"Listen," he said, putting a tape inside a radio. A song began to play with beautiful acoustics. "For you from me," Gon said, grabbing Killua's hand.

Merrily we fall out of line, out of line. I'd fall anywhere with you, I'm by your side.

Swinging in the rain, humming melodies. We're not going anywhere until we freeze.

I'm not afraid anymore. I'm not afraid. Forever is a long time, but I wouldn't mind spending it by your side.

Carefully we'll place for our destiny. You came and you took this heart and set it free.

Every word you write or sing is so warm to me, so warm to me. I'm torn, I'm torn to be right where you are.

I'm not afraid anymore. I'm not afraid. Forever is a long time, but I wouldn't mind spending it by your side. Tell me every day I get to wake up to that smile. I wouldn't mind it at all.

Killua must've been as red as a tomato. Perks of being so pale was than when you blushed, you could see it a mile away.

"I want you to stay with me forever, Killua," Gon said. He laced his pinky with Killua's. "And I promise I will stay with you forever if you're willing to put up with me that long."

Killua's heart beat so furiously he was sure Gon's sharp ears could hear it. Killua tightened his little finger.

"Forever," Killua promised.

The sun was nowhere in sight. It was as if Gon had taken the sunlight with him. The light that brightened Killua's dark life. Heavy rain began to fall, changing the color of the stone from light grey to almost black. Killua's white hair was plastered against his face, his clothes clung to his body, the cold froze his bones, but he couldn't move. He could only stare at the gravestone. Here lies Gon Freecss.

Killua's salty tears mixed with the rain pouring down.

"Stupid," he whispered. "You promised me forever," he sobbed. "YOU PROMISED!" he screamed at the lifeless tomb. He collapsed, his arms hung over the round gravestone. It was cold and rough against his cheek unlike the light that had been snuffed out too early. Unlike the forever Killua had lost.

"You promised me, Gon. I thought you didn't break promises!" Killua cried. He stared into the rain, remembering Gon's kind smile. And I promise I will stay with you forever if you're willing to put up with me that long.

"I fall anywhere with you. I'm by your side," he tried to sing, the words that had been so easy to sing to before now felt like rocks in his stomach and sandpaper on his tongue.

"I'm not afraid anymore. I'm not afraid. Forever is a long time… but I wouldn't mind spending it by your side."

The lyrics belong to I Wouldn't Mind by He Is We (beautiful song!). I got the inspiration for this one-shot from mmb yeot on youtube. I suggest you watch their HxH video to this song because it is absolutely beautiful! I hope you liked it!
