"So where are we going next Doctor?" Clara asked
"It's a beautiful place called Midnight! It's made of pure diamond!" At the mention of a solid diamond planet Clara looked a bit disbelieving.
"Wait its solid diamond, how come the people there haven't destroyed it and sold the diamond?" Clara's faith in her own race wasn't that high.
"Oh, because the planet is bathing in extonic rays, if you step outside for a second you get vaporized."
"Ah, sounds like a pleasant place for a stroll." She noticed something off about the Time Lord before her. "Have you been there before?"
"What? No, of course not... I never go to the same place twice..." Clara wasn't buying it at all.
"So who was it with?" The doctor gave her a dark look, but she wouldn't be scared off.
"I told you, I haven't come here with anyone before!" The cracking in the Doctors voice was obvious, Clara decided to stop pushing. She could hear the TARDIS landing. "We're here!" The Doctor was back to his normal self. Clara stepped out of the TARDIS and held a breath. The planet was breath taking.
"Ah, ah, what did I tell you? Isn't this place beautiful?" Clara was too busy staring outside the window, the shimmering blues and whites of the place. Spires of diamond towering above them, glittering and shining. She finally managed to turn her gaze from the window and look around her. "So where are we? Isn't the place covered in deadly rays?"
"Well, yes. But this is the resort, dropped in from space. Only safe place on the planet." Clara still noticed something off about the Doctor. So she decided it was up to her to fix him.
"So Doctor what do you want to do first?" She asked with spring in her voice.
"We could do a lot of things but which ones the best? We could go swimming or to the café or to the observatory… Or we could go see the sapphire waterfall." He hesitated before adding the last option, as if it brought back bad memories. "How about we go see that waterfall thing?"
"Nah, how about we go see to the observatory? I hear that the sun is hitting the spires perfectly right now." He seemed to want to do anything besides go to see the waterfall. "Alright, lead the way."
