Seeing I may not be able to finish my first lemon fic any time soon, I'm trying to write a short fic for Jaehee from Mystic Messenger. Spoiler free (but I use info from her route and the Deep Route), I would love to hear some feedback ^^
E - for everyone. M - for MAGIC!
"Moon Fortune"
Jaehee read the sign at the door, unsure if she should follow through. She knew she's just too busy for dating but everyone at the office kept nagging about how unusual was that the Chief assistant; a beautiful successful young woman, wouldn't dated anyone in all this years working at C & R. Was she really that weird? on top of all her hard work was it expected from her to have a boyfriend to be considered part of society?
-When am I supposed to go on dates when I'm working 27/7? *sighs slightly annoyed*
But if she tried being honest with herself... the truth was she wasn't really looking for someone, she didn't believed in love... love always leaves you alone after all, and didn't believe in matchmaking either. And yet, there she was. What was so special about this person? why everyone insisted she came to see her? there were a lot of "professional" matchmakers, probably better than this one. She heard about places where they used a special software to find the perfect man, using statistics and high end technology. This on the other hand was so underwhelming...
From the moment she entered the room, the matchmaker could feel the resistance from this client with every fiber of her being. The success of her business was due her uncanny power to see people's hearts and with a lucky few, she was able to see even more.
The extravagant old lady proceeded with the obligatory questions about her, her family, her work, what type of man she wanted... just wasting time until her "real talent" kicked in.
For an instant. The matchmaker saw the clear figure of a young woman surrounding her client. Really pretty, with long brown hair and a kind, warm smile, trying to touch Jaehee's cold, rock-hard heart, but it was still so very far, so out of reach.
it was clear as day that the walls her client built to protect herself weren't capable of handling that information yet. Listening to her answers and using her talent she knew what would happen next: even if her client didn't believed her at first, she would be suspicious of women also, closing herself for good. Trusting absolutely no one.
-All I can tell you is this: there's no man on this earth who can make you happy, you're impossible for matchmaking. There's nothing left for me to do.
The old lady extended her hand waiting for her pay. Almost offended, Jaehee tossed some crumpled bills onto the matchmaker's hand.
-it's the price for getting to know how valuable time is.
Jaehee Kang stormed out of the room, cursing the waste of time and money and the humiliation she just went through, without paying attention to the last words from the weird, almost wizard like, matchmaker.
-... and if you waste it trying to protect that heart of yours, you may end up regretting it, just because love won't come in the vessel you assume it will.
