"Colonel, what are we doing?"
"Waiting Lieutenant."
"Waiting for what Sir?"
Roy sighed. He turned to face his second with a disappointed frown. "The Great Pumpkin."
"Sir?"
"The Great Pumpkin. You have heard of him, haven't you Lieutenant?"
Riza blinked. "I'm afraid I haven't Sir."
"You led a very sheltered life Lieutenant."
"I'm sorry Sir."
Roy turned and lean against the fence that surrounded the pumpkin patch. "A brief history lesson Lieutenant. The Great Pumpkin is the deity of Halloween."
"The deity Sir?"
"Like Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny."
"I see Sir."
"He only appears in a pumpkin patch that He deems pure."
"Pure Sir?"
"Yes pure, Lieutenant."
Riza eyed her superior with mild concern. Had he injured himself when she wasn't looking? Or had he just cracked? "I see."
"And then, he travels across the world, giving gifts to those who believe in Him. And this only happens on Halloween."
"Then why are we here Sir?"
"Excuse me Lieutenant?"
"If the Great Pumpkin will visit you, then why are we here?"
Roy grinned. "I've always wanted to see Him appear."
"What if this isn't the patch Sir?"
"Then I'll head to a new one next year Lieutenant."
Riza sighed and squatted down next to Roy. "Alright Sir."
