It's been awhile. Just a random little something that popped into my head last night. Enjoy.

Will didn't quite know what he expected when he looked upon his wife for possibly the thousandth time since he'd returned from his sojourn among the deceased. He thought that she would look older or more worn down after their ten years of being apart. While she was more harried than he remembered, she was still the exact same woman that he had fallen in love with from the moment he first locked eyes on her. At the moment she was asleep, a warm presence by his side that he never wanted to lose again. He traced his finger gently along her cheek, feeling the smoothness of her skin and he smiled to himself.

And they had a son - a beautiful little boy that he would teach everything that he knew to, along with any other siblings that might still be waiting in the future. It was a wonderful thought; a large family, filled with laughing, happy children. Elizabeth then made a noise as though waking, interrupting his plans for the future.

"Will," she asked, her eyes still closed and her speech slurred, "You still awake?"

Instead of answering, Will gave his wife a gentle kiss on the forehead which gave her cause to sigh happily and fall instantly back to sleep.

Knowing sleep would not be coming to him any time soon, Will carefully moved off of the bed and walked to the door, looking back one last time to see Elizabeth in the dying candlelight and walked out.

It was still the early hours of the morning and the sky was not so pitch black when Elizabeth turned into the empty bed space that was most recently occupied by her husband. She opened her eyes and the room was empty except for her. Fear wrapped itself around her making her feel as though she were suffocating. Where could…? Where did he go...?

"Will?" she cried out, couldn't help it really.

Elizabeth left the room and went into the main portion of the house, yet he wasn't in there either. She searched the rooms of the entire house but Will wasn't in any of them, even checking through her son's room and finding only her little boy fast asleep within.

Not knowing where else to turn, Elizabeth left the house to search for Will outside. She didn't need to search long for him. Will was sitting with his back to the house, on the ground, staring up at the sky.

Trying to fight against the anger rising within her, Elizabeth walked towards him and then took a seat by his side. Will didn't seem to have even noticed her as he continued to watch the sunrise.

"What's the matter, Will? Why did you leave?" she asked quietly.

"'M sorry, Elizabeth," Will said back, "I was just...I wanted to watch the sunrise. I almost forgot what it was like here..."

Elizabeth's frown deepened. "Is it different down there?"

"A little, for me anyway," Will said.

Will lifted his head to the sky and took a breath in through his nose. "The sun, when it rose, didn't give off any warmth at World's End. It would just rise and set to signify a day and that was all. I couldn't feel it, like I do up here. I didn't enjoy it. It made me feel even more cut off from the world."

"That's because you're alive now. Completely."

As if to signify that, Elizabeth turned and placed her hand to his chest, feeling his heart beating beneath her palm. Will wrapped his arms around her, hugging her close to him and she laid her head to his shoulder.

"I would never leave you, Elizabeth. Not of my own discretion. Not anymore."

Together the two of them just sat on the ground, in front of their house and enjoyed the sunrise.
