Her's starts with Dear Diary
Summary: ONE-SHOT! Mikan is dead, and Yuka finds the only remaining item from the burnt house. It all starts with Dear Diary, I remember… The last page was written on the day she died. What exactly happened on that dreaded day?
Chapter 1: Her's starts with Dear Diary
Yuka's POV
I glanced at the remains of the little brunette I had in mind. It was hers. Her book. Her diary. The only remains of her. The dear beloved baby of mine. The girl I once let go of to save her. And… myself. I never expected this day to come so… soon. I flipped open the very first page.
January 1st
Dear diary, It's my birthday, and yours too! I'm really happy today, and plus, my friends must be celebrating for me!
10 00
Oh no! My friends don't remember my birthday! I can't believe it! At least naru-tou-san and my senpai's remembered…
11 00
Oh wait! They seemed to have been tricking me the whole time! Argh, the nerve of those fools!
Yuka could see the hesitation in her writing. She could not find the right words to scold her beloved friends. She skipped many entries, flipping to the one nearest to her… to her leaving…
July 1st
Tomorrow is the big plans. Tomorrow is the day I proceed. Although I am not happy with this planning, but I'm sure my friends will miss me, right? Keep track of time for me, whoever is reading this. I hope its mother, Hotaru-chan, Natsume-kun or Ruka-kun. Narumi-tou-san would read this…
Yuka smiled at the line. He did, actually. He was pleading to get to read the diary Mikan wrote.
By the time you read this, I'd be gone. Ano, please, whoever you are, pass this message to my friends.
Please be truthful and believe that I'm not gone forever. I'll still live in your hearts.
July 2nd
Dear diary, I'm going to leave you behind. I'm very sorry about this, but I was not allowed to bring you along. Gomenen, demo, watashi shinjite. I will forever be there for you all. Well, I'm leaving in a while, so I promise I'll leave you in a pile of ashes, not a scratch on you. I promise, cross my heart. Sayonara, diary, remember, I believe.
The saltwater room
Yours sincerely,
Mikan Sakura.
Ja ne.
I frowned at the first statement, and continued doing so for the rest of the entry. What was the saltwater room written there for?
Closing the book, I thought as hard as I could. What was that related to? I decided to ask Hotaru about it.
"That girl's business has nothing to do with me. But if you really want to know, that was her favorite song before she passed on." The ebony-haired girl said, no emotion strewn on her face. Yuka was not pleases. Mikan's supposing best friend had nothing to do with her? What kind of crap was this girl talking about?
"I know nothing." Natsume said, putting his manga back on his face.
"Gomen, I don't know anything, but you should check the song for the lyrics. Just in case." Ruka said, petting his bunny hesitantly. Yuka was definitely not happy. She gave the three 'closest' friends of Mikan's a nod and sped off in the other direction.
A few days later, they found out that Mikan died of suicide. She burnt herself and everything with her SEC Alice and nullified her diary. It was for her mother to keep and her mother only.
But Yuka didn't believe in all this. She knew that her Mikan was still alive, and that this was all just an image to block the truth. The only thing that was true was her diary, and Her's starts with a Dear Diary.
