Hermione whispered an enchantment, staring holes into a beaded bag on her bed. She crossed her fingers and looked inside the bag.
"Yes! It worked," she whispered, looking around suspiciously. She turned to her bookcase, drumming her fingers on the smooth wooden surface. I'm going to need all these, she thought, reaching out for the first. It was The Standard Book of Spells Grade 7 by Miranda Goshawk. It was on the book list this year and she thought she ought to bring it along with her entire bookshelf. She packed up the rest of her things in her extended bag but suddenly came to attention when her mother called her.
"Hermione! The tea is ready." Hermione clutched her wand hard in her hands. She knew what she had to do. She walked down the stairs to find her mother and father sitting at a table with tea and biscuits. She held out her wand and whispered the incantation, "Obliviate." Her parents' faces went black as if they didn't know where they were.
"Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins," she paused, "I ought to be off, have fun on your trip to Australia," she nodded and left the house. Pretending to be a complete stranger to her parents was torture. She struggled to keep the tears back as she walked down the open street she used to call her home.
She reached into her bag, checking that the books were still in order. She dropped the beaded bag to her side and continued to stride down the path. Looking in ever direction, he kept her eyes wide open for any sign of a shadow following her, but she was sure no one knew of the plan she and her friends had formulated. When she found a place that was completely deserted, she backed into the wall, holding her wand tight. With a quick snapping sound, Hermione disappeared from the street and found herself in a warm, cosy home namely, the Burrow. As she came to senses with her surroundings, she noticed that Ginny was running towards her. "
Hermione!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms around her.
"Oh, it's good to see you!" Hermione wrapped her arms around Ginny. They pulled away as Ron turned a corner. Hermione ran to hug him instantly. It was hard to let go of him but soon they let go and stood in an awkward silence.
"What? No trunk or anything?" Ron asked, looking at her almost empty hands. Hermione jiggled her beaded bag around and laughed.
"It's all in here!" she dropped it to her thigh.
"You couldn't possibly fit all your luggage in that small thing," Ron said, gesturing to it. "Undetectable Extension Charm, basically, I can fit everything in there and no one would know," she said matter-of-factly. Ron looked bewildered,
"I suspect you have your whole library in there, then?" he said, grinning.
"Oh shut up, you," Hermione replied with a frown that soon transformed into a giggle.
