Even Better than the Movies
Sam's ring could have just be a hunk of plastic, like one of those toy rings you can win at the carnival, for all she cares. It could have been a fruity-flavoured ring pop and she still would have worn it with pride. It didn't matter than the tiny stone caught the sunlight in such a way that it sparkled, and it definitely didn't concern her that the silver was real silver and not the type that turns green after exposure to the water.
She would have worn it regardless of what it looked like.
Hell, she would have worn a dirty plastic bag if he had given it to her with that sort of amazing speech. As far as she was concerned, the meaning behind the small ring now presiding on her ring finger was far more romantic and sweet than anything she had even seen in the movies. Sam would go to any lengths to protect her, to love her and that really meant something, after the way her father had just kicked her out without any remorse. He was a whole other different sort of man, nothing at all like Puck or Finn.
She could see herself marrying him, maybe.
He genuinely cared for her, and didn't care that her stomach and thighs had millions of thin silvery stretch marks lining them. He wouldn't even think of pressuring her to do anything she didn't want to, and she loved him for that. He was funny, and definitely handsome. And the best thing was that being in a relationship with him gave her a second chance at love. Maybe this time she could see how it felt to be in a relationship that wasn't made up of lies, or based around the fact that she was pregnant.
So she breaks out her chipped nail file and breaks into Sam's locker, stealing the tiny white box. The ring fits perfectly around her finger, and she adores the way it makes her feel. She hasn't been rushed into this relationship or pressured into doing anything she doesn't want to do. She's wearing this ring because she really does want to, not because someone told her to. Even if she's in a relationship with Sam, he allows her to make her own choices and decision and she loves him for that.
And if she does ever end up marrying him, she's definitely going to keep this ring somewhere on her person.
Reviewwwwww?
