Ruki sighed defeatedly, leaning against Renamon as the digimon sipped her tea.
"You're even better than me at video games," she gestured to the flashing K.O. on the screen. "And you only have six fingers total…" she glanced at the hands holding the cup, shaking her head.
Renamon put the cup down before answering serenely. "I live, eat, and sleep with you, Ruki; I know all your moves."
Ruki blushed slightly at the mention of sleep. She always did, and she suspected that was why Renamon said it so often, and even if she didn't appear to be looking at her, she did have a small smile on her face… But she supposed she was right, anyway. But then why didn't she know Renamon's moves?
"You do," the fox digimon said, as if reading her mind… damn, she even knew what she was thinking. "That's why I change them when we play," she finished simply.
Ruki gaped at her. "That's your secret?" She asked in a near-breakdown, finally getting back enough energy to sit up on her own.
Renamon nodded, still not even looking her way. Still with that… smile.
Ruki frowned. Would Renamon really reveal her incredible secret for 100% win in DOA? But then, she did love Ruki deeply, maybe she was really just being kind, to cure her frustrations over losing all the time. Ruki grinned evily, picking up the beaten-up controller from the corner she had thrown it to the last time, and sitting back down next to Renamon. She gave the genderless being a meaningful look, and Renamon took up her controller as well.
Five rounds later, and her wins were as solid as ever.
"Whyyyyy?!" The red-head cried, flinging the piece of machinery as far away as she could. Sadly, it didn't pierce through the wall as she had hoped it would this time, but the thud still gave her some satisfaction.
She turned to glare heatedly at her lover.
The tea was back in those beastly hands. All of the fox looked beastly to her now. Beastly and so unfair.
A moment later, and her answer came, "Oh, I suppose I've also gotten extra practice playing online while you're at school."
Ruki's angry face was burned delightfully into her mind. She was so fun to tease. Unfortunately, she took the Xbox away.
Next game would be digimon cards again… Ruki had to make up for all those losses.
