They say that opposites attract.
I often ask myself, Do they?
Of course I knew that girls were supposed to fall in love with boys or boys with girls as girls and boys are the opposite gender, but that's not what 'opposites attracts' mean.
Not before long, I got my long awaited answer.
As I first laid eyes on a certain blond Slytherin, I knew at once it was true.
Opposites do attract.
I was a brainy Gryffindor while he was a smirking Slytherin. Gryffindors and Slytherins were never together, they were sworn enemies.
It was as if he knew that I was staring at him. He turned around to face me and smirked. He mouthed a word- Mudblood.
With that, he walked away. He left me agape, sanding there like an idiot. I was speechless.
I swallowed the tears that were threatening to come out. My heart shattered; it would never be the same again.
Since then, I only concentrated on my studies. I've learnt my lesson. I'll never give my heart away to some stupid git, 'cos I'll end up being hurt again.
But still, even though I wanted to hate him and loathe him, I never could, 'cos deep, deep down inside, I still had feelings for the arrogant brat.
Every time his cold, emotionless gray eyes penetrate mine, I felt butterflies fluttering in my stomach. I hate the fact that I am still in love with him.
Despite how brainy I was, I couldn't find an antidote for the love potion I've never drank.
I just hope that behind his expanding ego and arrogance, he would feel the same.
Sigh… If pigs could fly…
