Cody paced back an forth gripping the small blue hoodie in his hands do hard his knuckles were turning white. "okay" he whispered to himself "let's try this again" he stood up straight and collected himself. "hey Nikki. I just wanted to give you your sweatshirt back" Cody held out the garment to the empty night "but now that I have a chance to talk to you, I just want to say that…that I really like you , Niks. Like…really really like you…. And I have for as long as I can remember. You're beautiful and you can light up any room by just being there. Your smile just makes my heart beat faster and your laugh…." he smiled to himself, picturing her. Her laugh clear in his head "your laugh is the best thing I've ever heard and if it was the only thing I heard from today on, I would be more than okay with that."
Cody sighed, trying to form his words right " I trust you more than anyone…ever. You're the best friend I ever had and I can't picture my life without you. I'd just be lost… completely and utterly destroyed really." he paused , scrunching his forehead and shutting his eyes in pain, scolding himself for thinking of his life without her. " I just want to know if maybe you'd give me a chance at being more of a friend because..well…"
"Cody?" Nikki's voice cut through the night.
Cody whipped around to see her walking toward him but she wasn't alone. "Nick…?" Cody asked in disbelief. "Cody! Dude!" Nick, also known as Dolph Ziggler, yelled as he pulled into a bro hug with Cody. Alcohol could faintly be smelled on him. The dark haired man pulled back and stared puzzled at the pair. 'why him…'
"this is yours" Cody shoved the hoodie towards Nikki. "you'd left it in my car."
"aww thank you"she smiled to him as she took the jacket from him. "Listen, Cody, bro. As much as we'd love to stay and chat" nick smirked down to Nikki "we have some business to take care of" Nikki giggled and Dolph pulled her in by the waist and kissed her.
Cody just rolled his eyes. "Tater then" Nick pushed Nikki toward the house playfully and she laughed, stumbling forward slightly. "Dude" the blonde whispered over to Cody "talk about scoring!" Dolph elbowed Cody and chuckled before following Nikki inside. The door shut and the couple disappeared.
