"This is absolutely insane and we are so going to get caught," Draco muttered from under the invisibility cloak. He and Fred barely fit together and Draco was fairly certain anyone they passed by would catch a glimpse of two pairs a feet walking by themselves down a corridor. And even in Hogwarts that was considered a bit odd.

"Only if you keep this chatter up," Fred hissed. "Now shut up or I'll ditch you at the nearest staircase. And yes that would entitle me throwing you down it."

Draco narrowed his eyes but remained quiet until they were out of the castle and through the gates. Then Draco threw off the cloak and looked back at the school. "It's weird," he said, "being on the outside like this."

The two had allowed for night to set in before they departed and the view of the castle from afar basking in the moonlight was a captivating site, and certainly not one students got to see very often.

"This is madness," Fred muttered. "Absolute madness." Then he broke into a grin. "All the better that way," he said cheerfully. "Well off we go!" And he set off down the path through the darkness.

"Whoa hold on just a minute," Draco said angrily, the spell of the castle completely broken. "I'm the one with the plan. I'm the one who bloody started this whole thing! So where do you think you're going?"

Fred frowned. "This was just as much of my idea as it was yours!" he said in vengeance. "And without me you wouldn't have even made it this far, you'd still be stuck in the bathroom breaking stuff, so shut it!"

Draco opened his mouth to retaliate, but he could not think of any way to respond to that. Weasley had made a good point, as much as it pained him to admit it. So, Draco shut it.

"That's better," Fred said. "Now, we're never going to get anywhere arguing. We're barely out of the gates for Merlin's sake and we're already having a go at each other." He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. Then in a sort of forced politeness, he said; "Where do you suppose we start out Malfoy?"

"The Manor," Draco said with certainty. "They will have taken her to Malfoy Manor. It's… it's the preferred holding cell for prisoners."

Rather than this worrying Fred he got excited. "So you think she's been kidnapped too!" he exclaimed.

"Well, yeah," Draco said confused. "What else would have happened? She just walked out?"

"Actually, yes, a lot of people think she just up and left," Fred told him.

For some reason this angered Draco. "That's not something she would do," he said.

"Yeah, I know," Fred sighed. "So…. Your place?"

Draco nodded. "It's far from here though, and I hadn't really worked out a means of transportation…" he trailed off. Maybe he was not so good at this leader thing after all.

"Well good thing you've got me then," Fred said agreeably. "I have got the perfect thing," he grinned in that way that had come to make Draco nervous. "Just you wait."
