Author's note: Ever since the seventh Harry Potter came to the theater, Fred Weasley's been on my mind a lot. After seeing the movie, this particular part, the part in the italics stand out to me the most encouraging me to write this short dialogue conversation between the two twins. If you've not seen the movie, this quote is from the movie. If you have, then feel free to continue.
George Weasley: You okay, Freddie?
Fred Weasley: Yeah.
George Weasley: Me too.
"Hey, Freddie?"
"Yeah, George?"
"Come here a minute, I want to talk to you, before we go fight today."
"Can it wait? I'm in the middle of writing up new ideas for our shop."
"Fred, it's serious, I need to talk to you."
"Okay, okay, with that look on your face, you've looked like you've seen a ghost, George."
"Fred, do you think of death?"
"I do, when I see the ghosts at Hogwarts, but that's about all."
"I'm serious, Fred. Do you think of dying?"
"Why are you being serious, George?"
"Because, war is serious, Fred."
"But, you're never serious when it comes to talking to me, George. Something's really bothering you."
"That's why I asked you to sit down, Freddie. We're best friends, right?"
"You can say that, yes."
"Don't smile, Fred. Never mind, you're not taking this seriously."
"Sit back down, George. What's going on?"
"Nothing."
"Come on out with it, George, I can handle anything you throw at me. We're brothers after all."
"Fine, during the war, when things seem rough, think of all the funny things we've done to our family and friends, to get through the war. To remind you of what we have to live for, 'kay?"
"Why, George. Why all the funny things?"
"Because, Freddie, those were the best moments of our lives. We live to make people laugh."
"I see your point. But do you have to be so serious and sad about it? You're bringing me down."
"Yes, Fred. Think of all the snowball fights we've had. All the pranks we've pulled on mum and dad, Ginny, Percey, Ron, Bill and Charlie, and even Harry."
"Basically, George, all the funny things, right?"
"Yes, all the funny things. Fred, you're my brother ; my partner in crime. Every time I look in the mirror I see your face."
"And what an ugly face it is. Ouch! Why'd you punch me George?"
"I'm serious, Fred."
"Dead serious."
"Save the puns, Fred. Think of your brother. Who knows what can happen today."
"Alright, George, calm down a bit. I'll think of my brother when the going gets tough."
"Thank you, that's all I ask for."
"But, George, if something were to happen to the other, you have to promise me, you'll think of all the funny things we did together, 'kay?"
"Look at who is being serious now, Fred."
"You rubbed some of your seriousness off onto me, George."
"Good. Then we've both made a promise today, Fred."
"George, why is this important to you?"
"Because, Freddie, you're my brother, and I love you."
