Galinda knocked on Nessa's door urgently, and started to shake her hands up and down while bouncing. "NESSA-ROSE! I need to speak with you! Now!"

Nessa opened the door and raised her eyebrows at the ever bouncy Galinda. "I am crippled… not deaf, Miss Galinda."

"I know that!" Galinda wailed squeakily. "May I come in?"

Nessarose opened the door even more so Galinda could slip in and wheeled backward.

Once in, Galinda got down to Nessa's level. "Okay, now business… Do you have… a hairbrush?"

"A hairbrush, Miss Galinda…? Why?"

"Elphaba was brutally attacked by squirrels… and they messed up her hair..." Galinda's eyes widened. "So… hairbrush."

Nessa giggled at Galinda's dire expression, and couldn't choke any words out. She just laughed in her chair while Galinda sat there looking confused.

A second later, Galinda's mouth dropped open. "You think this is funny, Nessie!?" She used her arms to emphasize her point as she said, "this is serious… SQUIRRELS. Have you ever seen them up close… the beady little eyes, the sharp cutting teeth… and let's not forget… the vacant little stare… then, they attack, and your hair is doomed... unless you have a hairbrush!" Then, she used her hands then to seem as if she was weighing something. "Uncontrollable hair… or hairbrush. You decide!"

"Don't you have a hairbrush?"

"The squirrels took it."

Nessa giggled again. "Okay," she slid over to her dresser and picked up a glossy hairbrush that was glinting in the morning light, "you may use my hairbrush."

Galinda squealed and took it in her hands. "Nessa, it's beautiful! Thank-you, so, so, much!"

"You're welcome," Nessarose responded politely, bowing her head to suppress any laughter. "You've certainly brightened my day."

Galinda smiled and leaned down, giving Nessa a quick kiss on the cheek, then bouncing out of the room. "Thank-you, Miss Nessarose! Elphie's hair shall thank you as well!"

Nessa touched her cheek where a lipstick imprint of Galinda's lips was. It was tingling and she blushed.
