Are you ready?" Mccoy asked, more to speak than anything else. Spock was most definitely ready for their shore leave.

"Of course," the Vulcan replied readily. They stepped onto the transporter pad.

"Engage," Leonard requested easily, swallowing his instinctual transporter-induced grumpiness, and the uncomfortable feeling of dissolving into thin air took over for a moment.

They arrived at the travel port in Atlanta a moment later, to the usual bustle of people that Leonard was familiar with in Georgia's only metropolis. A sign above the pad read in cheery letters 'Welcome to the Peach State!' Mccoy did not give it a second thought, until he noticed his companion's captured attention.

"What are you starin' at?" He asked, completely baffled.

"I was under the impression that signs would be in Kartuli," he looked to Leonard, who was not following the confusion. "Additionally, while it could be referring to a sovereign state, I had understood it was customary to refer to such a province as a nation." The Vulcan explained, and Mccoy could not hold in a chuckle.

"Spock, there's two Georgia's. The state, and the country. I'm from the state." He chuckled again, and the Vulcan flushed green in inevitable embarrassment.

"Ah. That indeed explains the discrepancy."

"How long have you thought I was from the country?" His question met with the Vulcan equivalent of a grimace.

"Long enough to learn conversational Kartuli in preparation for this visit."

If possible, Spock simultaneously became more stoic and blushed just a but darker as the good Doctor continued to laugh.

A/N: this is dumb and silly, but the idea would not leave my head...
