Note: Nashi is the commonly accepted name for Natsu and Lucy's child. Lucy is also apparently spelled Lushi (I think) originally before translation and that is why it is considered a mash-up.
Lucy sat on the couch in Natsu's little house. He had been renovating it for a while now just so he could live with Lucy there, but now, with a baby on the way he had to work extra fast. It was why the guild was over there today, to help with constructing the new baby room. Mirajane had styled the floor plans and Lisanna was to help with decorating the room. Natsu kept running around like a mad man trying to help, but Erza finally sat him down on the couch next to his wife so they work could get done even a little bit faster.
"They don't need you huh?" Lucy teased, her hand was rubbing her swollen stomach and a book was clutched in the other.
"Apparently not," Natsu reached over and placed his hand over Lucy's. There was a small kick of recognition, Lucy said the child could feel the heat of his hand, and he smiled, leaning down to kiss the little footprint etched through Lucy's skin.
"What are we going to name her?" Lucy asked reaching up and running her fingers through Natsu's pink hair.
"Nashi," He said without hesitation.
"Natsu, I am not naming our daughter after a mash-up of our names."
"It's a cute name."
"I don't think our daughter is a Nashi," Lucy stated stubbornly. Natsu glared at her.
"I do, you'll see Lucy."
"Yes, we'll see."
"Would you like you hold your daughter Mrs. Dragneel?" The doctor asked, Lucy nodded and stretched out her arms for the child. She was tired, Natsu could see it in her, but as she took the little bundle of joy she held it close as any strong woman would. He smiled and walked over to stand hear Lucy's head so he could stare down at the baby.
"She's beautiful, just like you." Natsu whispered. She looked up at Natsu for a moment before looking back down at her daughter.
"Hello Nashi, I'm your mother." The little baby's arm came free and her hand groped, Lucy put her finger out and Nashi held tight.
"I told you we'd name her Nashi," Natsu was grinning from ear to ear.
"Yeah, yeah,"
"Oh she's so cute!" Mira screeched as Natsu and Lucy entered the guild hall a week later. She'd been waiting by the door for the couple to come so she could see the newest member of the guild.
"Mira, not so loud," Lucy tried, but the rest of the guild was already thundering towards them shouting excitedly.
"What did you name her?" Lisanna asked bouncing forward.
"Nashi," Natsu replied with a wide grin.
"She's adorable," Levy reached out a finger to the now awake baby, she grabbed hold and Levy giggled. "Can I hold her?"
Lucy handed the pink bundle to her friend, who cradled her ever so softly. She turned to Gajeel and gave him a wide smile which made the dragon slayer blush brightly.
"I want to hold her too!" Everyone in the guild was suddenly rushing for a chance to hold the baby, Natsu and Lucy were feeling quite overwhelmed but very loved.
