Graduation

The day we've all been waiting for,

The day we start anew.

The day we've been preparing for,

For this day is for you.

We'll sing our song, we'll sing it strong,

And when the day is through,

We'll party hard, we'll party long

And do what we teens do.

Oh, but the tears we'll cry as we say goodbye,

And the old friends that we'll leave,

At night, at home, in bed, as we'll lie,

Thinking of playmates to grieve.

But as the days whiz by, I find it hard to cry,

For the Friends that I once knew,

On that day long past, when they said bye,

They said goodbye to you.

And so I say, to this very day,

Enjoy your grade of eight,

You cannot stay, so play and play

Before you graduate.
