Author's Note: Forgive the horibbly uncreative title. Anyways, this story is different from the other two I wrote. The style and plotline (if you can call it that) have changed. Comment if you like it or hate it or think it's okay.

Warnings: Kinda sorta AkuDemy but not really.

Disclaimer: I don't own KH.

Rain

Axel blew at a strand of wet hair that had fallen across his face. He hated the rain, so why did he end up on a mission in a world where it was constantly raining? He could swear Xemnas planned it all.

And Demyx just made it worse. Not only was the Nocturne disgustingly happy with the rain, he seemed to make it worse. It was as if the water reacted to his joy and pounded down harder. The Flurry trudged along as XI danced along ahead of him, singing some stupid song.

He was fed up with it. "Demyx, why can't we just go back to the World That Never Was?"

Demyx's face fell a bit at his friend's expression and tone. "Well, it's just so nice here. Everything's green and wet and… I just wanted to eat dinner in this world. Then we could head back, but if you really don't want to…"

If there was anything Axel hated more than rain, it was seeing Demyx depressed. He was never entirely sure why. Maybe just that in a world of darkness and heartlessness with the coldness of the rest of the Organization surrounding you, it was nice to have at least one person who was happy with it all. When Demyx was down, it seemed that everything was at its lowest. "Oh, whatever. We can eat here. You'll have to pay though, I'm all out of munny."

A smile crept back across Demyx's face. "That's fine. I've got plenty."

They continued through the dark town, rain falling and weighing down their heavy coats. Demyx seemed content to wander around until he found a spot that really caught his eye. Axel, however, would've been happy to just eat a hamburger somewhere and be done with it. As happy as he could be in this weather.

It just didn't make sense to him that anyone could be happy in such drenched conditions. Then again, maybe it was natural for a fire elemental to dislike the rain. The rain extinguished fires. Maybe it did the same to his spirit. Eh, whatever.

At long last, Demyx chose a little diner. Axel sped through the door, but Demyx paused outside, staring up into the cloudy night. The rain plastered down his blonde hair and dripped down his neck. A smile brightened his face.

Axel watched him and decided that after a moment that maybe the rain wasn't all that bad.
