Hero

Bobby sat down on the sandy beaches of Rayne. He was thinking… thinking about what he had done just an hour ago. He had finished writing his journal to Courtney and Mark, and sent it.

It was over.

He had never known about being a traveler before. Bobby had always wondered what it would be like to be a hero. He always wanted to be praised, and to save the lives of others.

Now, he understood the truth.

It was the worst feeling that he had ever had. Being a hero was a hard job, and he knew every single mistake he'd make would count against him later in the battle.

He wanted to quit.

Ever since the Hindenburg had crashed and hundreds of lives were lost, Bobby hated being a hero. He hated responsibility, and the feeling of losing. After Quillan, Bobby understoof how much loss really costed.

But Bobby Pendragon had a duty.

He knew he hadn't done enything to affect Saint Dane by destroying the flume. Nothing had changed yet. Saint Dane was still in control, and Bobby had a feeling he wasn't on Ibara… but someone else who sided with Saint Dane was.

He had to protect his friends.

His friends would need him soon. The Convergence was slowly beginning; Bobby could feel it. They needed him… Courtney, Mark, and the other travelers… they all needed him.

Was he ready?

Was he ready to undo what he had done wrong? Was he supposed to be the hero that no one else wanted to be? He was, but he wasn't going to except it… not now.

Not yet… because she was there.

Telleo walked over to Bobby and sat down next to him. They talked, conversed, and laughed todether. Bobby was happy to stay on Ibara. Nevva, however, soon had other plans for him.

Am I a hero?
