Since as long as he remembers Barnaby Brooks Jr had the habit of drinking warm milk before going to bed, it wasn't even something he thought about anymore, he just did it, everyday without fail, and, if one day he forgot he couldn't find sleep, no matter how hard he tried, until he suddenly remembered that his milk had been forgotten. When it happened he woke up, fixed the problem and sleep claimed him as soon as he tucked himself under the blankets.

Now however this simple habit of his was starting to become a problem. Or rather said, the man he now lived with was making it become a problem.
He was forgetting it more and more. No one could blame him to forget things when he's so comfortably set against Kotetsu's chest, safely held in his strong arms.
Not only was he forgetting it but once he was into his arms there was no mean to escape, he didn't even want to. He didn't want to wake up the man either when his sleeping face was so peaceful and relaxed, he didn't want to be the one to disturb that peace, never.
In the meantime, he still couldn't find sleep, no matter how much he tried. So he decided to leave the warmth of the bed, waking up Kotetsu in the process.

"What is it Bunny?" he asked, still sleepy. "Nothing, go back to sleep"
"There's obviously something if you can't sleep"
"There is nothing Kotetsu", he rose from the bed and tried to walk toward the kitchen when a hand on his wrist made him fall back on the bed.

"Kotetsu!", he complained, "I just need to go to the kitchen"
"Why?"
Kotetsu was grinning now and Barnaby could tell he was planning something "Stop acting like a child and let me go"
"No". The grip on his wrist became tighter and he could feel himself being pulled closer to Kotetsu, feeling strong arms around him again. No matter how much he wanted to go he couldn't and he stopped fighting, defeated, almost mad that he couldn't do anything against that man.
Cradled into Kotetsu's arms he could see the man grinning satisfyingly.
"Why are you so happy?"
"'Cause you're back where you belong" he answered, kissing him tenderly on the forehead. Barnaby didn't answer, he couldn't find any answer, he refused to let Kotetsu know that he was right. He felt good in his arms, Kotetsu's skin felt good under his hands, his lips felt good under his.
Kissing was the perfect answer to almost everything Kotetsu says thought Barnaby.

When he pulled away, Kotetsu was laughing. "It's milk you want right little Bunny?"
He admitted it, there was nothing he could do against the old man's perception, no matter how dense he was most of the time, "Yes, I forgot", he paused, "you made me forget"

Kotetsu laughed again, "I'll make up for it then. Just you wait, I'll bring you some milk"
Barnaby barely had the time to register what he said that Kotetsu was walking away, he whimpered at the loss of the warmth, happy when he returned a glass of milk in his hands, happy when he sat down next to him urging him to drink so they could go back to sleep.

As soon as he had finished his glass Kotetsu took it from him and put it on the nightstand, taking him back into his arms, looking tenderly at Barnaby's face as he slowly drifted to sleep. The last thing he heard was just a mutter "Damn Bunny you really have long eyelashes"

And he went to sleep with a smile.
