New vampires, I thought, feeling a little uneasy. What if they don't like me?

Tonight was the night of my first baseball game as a vampire. Crisp air blew amongst our freezing pale skin. I had never been a big fan of baseball, but this was quite exciting. In my head I imagined thunderstorms as my favorite type of weather in the near future.

Alice was going to pitch, of course-she would know just when to. She waited for the precise moment, and then smiled. "It's time," she spoke in her soft, cheery voice.

For a short while, just to get the excitement of the game in me, I watched. Alice pitched, Rosalie hit, Japser, Emmett, and Edward went after the ball. Then Carlisle batted, and Esme' was the catcher. They seemed so perfect together that I didn't want to "intrude" in their game. But that didn't last very long. Edward invited me over to the playing area.

"So," He muttered. "You think you can get away with not playing?"

"No, I just…" My mind was blank. I had no excuse. "didn't want to intrude."

"Bella, you're a part of this family," He spoke clearly. His words were totally serious. "You could never intrude."

So I played with them. We had a lot of fun, and although I mostly just batted, I still enjoyed it. Everything seemed so normal, so right, and then the others arrived. Strange vampires from another place. Their names were Victoria, James, and Laurant. They began to play with us.

Victoria had her own style-she had quite a curveball.

James was very….umm….direct. He never gave up.

Laurant was a surprise. He was so unpredictable, it was tough to face him.

Once the thunderstorm had passed, we said good bye and went home. Those vampires were different, and we'd probably never see them again. They were just passer-bys, but I felt something else. I knew it meant absolutely nothing, but I'll never forget the feeling I had around them.
