"Obsession. What a funny thing it is! One momentit leads you to satisfaction, but the next it can lead to your own destruction. I let my own obsession blind me!"
He realizes that he let his own addiction get the best of him. The hunger to silence the rumors of his foes' return lead him down a path he could not return from.
He returned home only to find buildings set ablaze, buildings gone. His own home did not go untouched. Not even the one place he cared for most was spared.
There was once green pastures and endless farmlands. Now almost everything was a barren wasteland.
The people of Darganon wanted him to be their protector, but because he followed his obsession they condemned him.
He was suppose to stay and fight the evil that had dominion over all the land. Instead, he chose to abandon them.
How did it come to this? It was only now that he saw that his obsession could destroy everything he held dear to.
When he arrived at his home, he found more of the same destruction that had struck Darganon. As he walked towards the stairs something caught his gaze.
He looked down and in a fit of rage, a primal yell came forth. For what he saw in front of him changed the weight of his obsession into a new perspective.
