By the way, oh valued reader (*tries to hide laughter*) An asterisk means a
memory. Y'know.. these thingies (*)
The Best Thing
Never want to fly, never want to leave. Never want to say what you mean to me.
Secret romantic Haruka Tenou sat on the edge of her bed, feeling drained, and staring wistfully down at her girlfriend. She sighed, and her mind slipped to reviewing her life, as it always did when she was depressed. She remembered. *Michiru Kaioh stormed around the bedroom, almost literally wearing a groove in the floor as she swept Haruka's thing onto the floor. She turned, and continued screaming at a horrified Haruka. "Well then, Miss Haruka Tenou, if you hate living here so much, then just LEAVE!!!" Haruka shook her head, and Michiru almost snapped it off. "Oh, and after all your complaints, why is that?" Haruka sighed, running her hands through her short blonde hair in frustration. "Well... because. well, because. I love you, Michi, and nothing could ever change that."*
Never want to run, frightened to believe You're the best thing about me.
Haruka looked down at this amazing woman, who'd been with her for two lifetimes. This woman had been there through all of Haruka's tough times, from the murder of her Mum, to her Dad getting remarried. She's the sanity in this house. *Reading the letter, Haruka screamed, then broke down and sobbed, and Michiru burst frantically out of the kitchen. "What on earth happened?" Haruka turned and fell into Michiru's arms. "Father's getting remarried." Changing tones, she tried to scramble away. "I'll kill her, the whore!" Michiru desperately clung onto Haruka's arm, frightened. "No, no, you can't." She said soothingly. Snarling, the blonde haired woman turned threateningly. "And why not?" "Because it's not right, and it's not like you. She has never done anything to you, and has probably never even set eyes on you in her life!" Haruka's shoulders slumped. "You're right, as usual, Michi. I don't know what I (or anyone else, for that matter) would do without you.*
Sometimes I feel like this is only chemistry, Stuck in a maze, searching for a way to. Shut down, turn around, feel the ground beneath me. You're so close, where do you end, where do I begin?
Haruka recalled the many times they'd touched, with fondness, particularly one that occurred when they were still young. *"Haruka, how do I know you love me?" Pleaded a confused, 17 year old Michiru. Haruka smiled. "Because, when I wake up every morning, I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I know everything about you is all sweetness and light. and I love you." And with that, the young lovers shared their very first kiss of their life, the first of many. *
Always pushing and pulling. Sometimes sanity takes vacation time on me, I'm in a daze, stumbling bewildered. North of gravity, head up in the stratosphere, You and I, roller coaster riding, love. You're the centre of adrenaline, And I'm beginning to understand...
As Haruka moped, Michiru sighed and rolled over in her sleep. Looking down at her angelic face, Haruka once again rediscovered the reason she didn't want to become like this again. She smiled and gently kissed her lover on the cheek. Michiru smiled, her hand closed over Haruka's, and she slept on.
