Author's Note: Well, hey guys(: I've had this story in my files for a long time and I'm wondering if i should continue it. Let me know!
[JEZEBEL ELLIS]
Jez was trying hard to breathe as she placed her hand on the cold metal doorknob of Room 62. Visions of people laughing and taunting her danced through her mind.
Okay, Jez. You can do this.
She took a deep breath and pushed the door open, just a crack. Jez was about to step inside when she heard voices talking about...her.
[GABRIEL HAZEL]
Gabriel tried to suppress his sigh as the whole class broke into a frenzy about the "new girl".
"What's her name?" Savannah, the junior class president, leaned forward in her blue metal chair.
Max pushed his metal-rimmed glasses up his nose.
"Her name is Jezebel Ellis. She was just kicked out from St. Elizabeth's School for the Elite in New York because people accused her of being physic."
"How did you kno-" Savannah began.
Gabe interrupted, "Kicked out?"
Max pursed his lips in thought, "Yes, at least that's what it said in her files."
"Why?" Savannah was getting impatient.
"Someone accused her of killing someone."
"WHAT?" Erin, the cheerleading captain, yelled across the room.
Now the whole class was listening as Max proceeded to tell us everything he knew about Jezebel Ellis.
"Well," Max nervously cleared his throat, "the accusation came from a girl who had bullied Jezebel since second grade, so the school board didn't do any serious investigations on it. The police concluded that the whole thing was a made up story to frame an innocent girl."
Erin dropped her voice and whispered across the room, "What happened to the person who was killed?"
"Oh, the usual. Parents threatening to sue, vowing that the criminal would someday pay, ya-da-ya-da-ya-da. Unfortunately, a lot of people still saw Jezebel as the potential murderer, so her family moved over here to start over."
"How do you know-"
The squealing door cut Mary off mid-sentence. She and the class all whipped their heads to search for the source of the sound, but there was no one there.
[JEZEBEL ELLIS]
Jez couldn't believe that all of the other students knew about her. The only reason that she had transferred to a school that was all the way in California was to have a new beginning.
She didn't want to be stared at like a freak show anymore. She didn't want to be glared at by her ex-friends anymore. She didn't want people to back away from her because she was a physic. She didn't want-
"Jez?" someone called out from behind her.
When Jez turned around, her heart leaped.
"Delia!" She ran into the arms of her only friend in California.
Delia gave her a mega-watt smile, "Why aren't you in class?"
Jez didn't need to tell her. Delia was the only person in the whole world who knew the REAL reason why she had moved to a state thousands of miles from her home.
Delia smile faltered for only a bit.
"Come on," she said as she linked arms with Jez and flung open the door of Room 62.
[GABRIEL HAZEL]
Gabe watched as Delia stepped into the class, arm-in-arm with a girl that he had never seen before.
"Guys," Delia yelled over the frenzy, which started to subside once everyone caught a glimpse of the new girl. "This is Jez."
Gabe couldn't believe it. Jez didn't look anywhere near the type that would be kicked out of a school. She had beautiful, wavy chestnut colored hair that cascaded down her back, and unlike most of the girls at school, she wore almost no makeup: it seemed to accentuate her soft features even more.
"Wow, she's hot," Gabe's best friend, Daniel, whispered in his ear.
"No, she's a murderer." Erin whispered back.
