Kurt Hummel. Where did it all go wrong for him? One minute he's an innocent boy with big dreams about heading off to broadway and the next he's here. Pink spiked hair, three ear piercings, a nose ring, an upper lip ring and snake bites on his bottom lip. His father watches his son as he potters around the kitchen getting ingredients to make a raspberry and strawberry pavlova, he's changed ever since the Karofsky incident. No other schools in the area were willing to accept his son when it all went down, so Burt had no choice but to leave Kurt at McKinley. Burt still tried, he complained to school boards and tried to save money for Kurt to go to a private school in Westerville, but it got leaked that those boys were using drugs in a show choir competition and Kurt didn't feel he would fit in with anyone who would do that. So now on his senior year Kurt was still a misfit. However, the bullying had stopped, because his son had become a bully himself. Burt didn't know this of course, Kurt acted normal at home and his dad assumed he just dressed in a certain way so people would leave him alone.
"Dad there's people next door," Kurt said looking out the kitchen window seeing a woman and a boy about his age empty suitcases out of a car, and behind them a removal truck with furniture inside. But what really caught his attention was the boy, he was such a dork! A shirt that looked like it was designed by Mr Schuester and skinny jeans that only came to the top of his ankles?! Stupid glasses with thick frames and a ridiculous bow tie!
"Oh I was told they were coming tomorrow," his dad watched, "there names are Pam and Blaine Anderson, as far as I know it's just them two moving in!" Burt put on his hat and walked to the front door, "I'm going to go say hi, you coming?" Kurt shook his head but Burt already knew the answer anyway and was already leaving the house.
Kurt went upstairs and knocked on Finn's door, "Open up I need your window!" Kurt huffed when no-one answered and opened the door. 'Hmm he must be out with Puck' he thought. He went over to the window, (it was the only window upstairs with a view of next doors house). He watched as his dad spoke to them both and how the dork, what was his name, Blake? He watched how Blake smiled, he even had braces to make him even more of a dork.
"What are you doing?" Kurt turned round and saw Finn stood at his bedroom door, "oh nothing just new neighbours," Kurt left the room quickly and went back to the kitchen to continue with his baking.
Blaine walked into the kitchen as his mother spoke with their new neighbour, Burt was telling his mother how he had a son Kurt and step-son Finn who would both be in the grade above Blaine, and that they would look out for him if anything should happen. Pam was worried about her son, Blaine had been beaten many times at his old school and when he went to Dalton he was told there wasn't room in the Warblers because the club was popular, so Blaine never made any friends.
Thankfully the bruises left on his skin left by her ex-husband were gone now but she knew Blaine was mentally scarred, she hated herself for not informing the police and getting moved sooner, but Blaine told her countless times he understood.
"You can go next door and meet Kurt and Finn if you want too," Burt said.
"Yes honey go!" Pam chuckled pushing him gently in a playful manner, Blaine knew she just wanted him to make friends but as he walked outside and next door he got really, really nervous. He rang the door bell and shoved his hands in his pockets.
A tall man opened the door and smiled at him, "hello?" He looked at Blaine, Blaine was much smaller than him. "H-hello..I'm B-Blaine." Finn smiled at him taking no notice of his stutter, "oh hey man!" Finn moved signalling for Blaine to walk inside. "So is it true the house next door has a vampire living in the basement?" Blaine looked at his new neighbour in shock, but Finn laughed patting his back.
Blaine and Finn spoke for a little while, but after finding out Blaine was also a fan of Mario Kart they ended up on the Wii, battling each other trying to get across the finish line first. Kurt heard them but stayed quite not wanting to meet the dorky Blake guy and just put his pavlova to set in the fridge and crept back upstairs. He just reached the top when he heard, "so um wh-where's your b-brother?" Blaine had asked. "Oh he's probably off shagging someone," Finn replied. Kurt stormed down the stairs, "EXCUSE ME?! How dare you give him the impression I'm some slut who goes round sleeping with people!" "But you do!" Finn shouted in return and Blaine looked petrified. "So what I've had sex a few times?! Doesn't mean you have the right to tell anyone! Especially not some dorky kid you've just met!" Kurt was sure steam was coming out of his ears, he looked over at Blake who just stared at them both. "I don't have to tell everyone Kurt! Everyone knows! Especially after you slept with that guy on my football team, he had to transfer schools because of you!" Finn was stood up now looking at Kurt, "oh I see! It's my fault that he got outed! Everybody hates me because I some how turned him gay! Is that it?" Kurt shouted louder pushing Finn slightly. "You know that's not what I'm saying! I don't have a problem with your sexuality, but I do have a problem with you not caring about other people! You just called Blaine a dork without even thinking!" "I DON'T CARE ABOUT BLAKES FEELINGS!" Kurt shouted.
"HIS NAME ISN'T BLAKE ITS BLAINE! YOU WOULD KNOW THAT IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE YOUR HEAD SHOVED UP YOUR OWN ARSE!" Kurt slapped Finn and ran to his room crying a little, he hated being known as the school slut, he hated that people thought he didn't care.
"S-shou-uld I go?" Blaine asked looking at Finn, "no man don't worry about it," the older boy sat down and smiled giving him a reassuring pat on the shoulder and they both continued to play the game.
