Hello! This came into my head today and it's just a quick one-shot of how I imagined the final meeting between Severus and Lily…enjoy.

Green.

That was all he remembered seeing in his final moments.

The green of his beloved Lily. His throat grew tight as he recalled Lily. He knew he was dead and he knew what that meant, but was he really ready to see her again?

When he once more opened his eyes, he could see that he was on the outskirts of a park that he had visited in his childhood.

Where he had met Lily. Before Hogwarts, and before life had ripped them apart.

There was a lone figure slowly swinging on the swings and he swallowed. As sure as he died, he knew who it was. She was waiting.

He slowly made his way over, her eyes never leaving his face. He didn't stop until he was directly in front of her and he waited.

For what could he say, she surely knew that it was his fault?

The swing stopped and he closed his eyes. He licked his suddenly dry lips and was about to speak when he felt the stinging imprint of her hand.

She had slapped him.

He opened his eyes and looked at her in disbelief. She was holding her hand, "that was for giving us to that snake face."

He looked pained. So, maybe he did deserve that, but what happened next shocked him to the core. She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his waist and he felt her gentle lips kiss his cheek, right on the handprint.

He pulled away and she gave him a sad smile, "and that was for everything else."

He shook his head, "why," his voice was pained, "I don't deserve it."

Lily placed both her hands on his face and forced his eyes to meet hers. "I know what you did…I know how much you sacrificed…I know how much you regret it…you gave my child a chance."

He brought his hands up to rest on hers, "but…I still cost you…your life."

She leaned up and placed her forehead against his, "you need to let it go. I don't blame you and neither does James…for us, you made it right the moment you gave your life to protect Harry…for that we will always be grateful."

He took a staggering breath and felt tears falling down his face. Maybe, Lily was right. It was time to let it all go. He wrapped his arms around Lily and buried his face in her hair and cried.

Lily merely wrapped her arms around Severus Snape and held him close. When he finally pulled away, Lily grabbed his hand and started pulling him. Severus gave a soft smile and followed.

He was at peace.
