Summary: Naruto knows how they see him, but he sees more than they ever will
A/N: This has nothing to do with the song by the same name. Obviously.
He knows exactly how the villagers see him: a demon, a monster, someone who is nothing more than a container for a Youma. Worthless.
He knows too, how his friends see him: clumsy, hotheaded, quick to anger, but reliable. Someone to count on.
But behind blue eyes, Naruto sees more than his friends, or the villagers do, although he never says anything.
Sakura-chan, who has not only superior physical strength, but terrifying inner strength.
Kakashi-sensei, who grieves for lost lives and lost souls.
Hinata, who yearns to be loved, and wanted.
Kiba, whose anger at the world lies just beneath the surface.
Shino, who doesn't say much, but learns by watching.
Kurenai-sensei, who keeps herself as invisible as her genjutsu does.
Neji, who by breaking away from tradition, conforms to it.
Tenten, who works harder than she plays.
Lee, whose quest for genius has broken more than just his bones.
Gai-sensei, who loves Lee like his own son.
Ino, who has to have a mind of steel to see inside other people's heads.
Shikamaru, who really is as lazy as he says.
Chouji, who is far too gentle for his own good.
Asuma-sensei, who still grieves for his father.
Tsunade no baachan, who sees him as a younger brother.
Ero-sennin, who covers up reconnaissance work for the village beneath a pretence of spying on women.
The woman at the sweetshop, who calls him an evil child but beats her daughter every day.
Ichiraku, who still doesn't understand why Ayame-chan is moving home.
Izumo and Kotetsu, who at one stage, tried to kill each other and nearly succeeded.
Ebisu-sensei, who is still bitter about his failed promotion.
Iruka, who will never be able to hold a child of his own.
Hyuuga Hiashi, whose arrogance blinds him to real strength.
Orochimaru, who is secretly afraid of Uchiha Sasuke.
Yes, Naruto sees everything, and knows more about Konoha's peoples than they know about themselves. Being who he is, he knows all about the things they try to hide, and the secrets that lie behind closed doors.
The thing about having a monster inside you is being able to see the monsters inside other people as well.
