A short oneshot I wrote because I love the sea.

He could hear the waves caressing the shore, the stones on the beach tumbling gently in the water. He could feel their movement within himself, feel the tug of the tide. He could taste the salt in the air, taste the freedom. He sighed. It was not a sigh of released tension, but of true contentment. This is where he was meant to be. This is what he deserved after all those years. He sighed again reveling in the calm, getting lost in the depths of the water as far as the eye could see, then pulling back in to watch the pebbles sway on the shore.

This was peace.

This was the calm he had sought so long.

This was his reward.

He lay back, staring for a change at the sky. Pure rolling clouds danced across a pale blue ballroom, skirts flaring, tails flying, innocent and naive. The sea lulled him with sweet music while the sky danced to the tune.

Slowly he fell towards dreaming, the past swamping him.

"Legolas!" He jolted awake. "Are you alright, melon nin?" Aragon asked him
