A quick Ellis-Zoey one-shot. another tragedy. BTW-im thinking of making my new pen name TragedyMaster2012 since all i write are tragedys. Whos with me?

The 8 survivors sat in the dim lighting of the safe room, gloom and horror etched on their blood-covered faces. They were also angry. "We are so close...but were going to fail after wehat weve done?" Zoey cried in frustration, tears in the corner of her eyes. "Zoey...im sorry. For once, i have no plan" Bill said with regret, staring at the wall, his eyes blank."

The survivors had fought their way to the bridge-at least they were a block away from it. But, ther apocalypse threw another curve at them-the army set up a gate that wouldnt work unless an immune person in a tower pressed his thumb against the keypad. The power was still on, so that keypad still held the gate clamped shut. This might not have been an issue normalli, but with the tower infested, it was a death trap. They were definitely stuck.

Nick was hugging Rochelle, who was quietly crying into his jacket, Coach was whispering with Francis and Louis in the other room, trying and failing to come up with a good plan. Ellis held Zoeys hand despite the death grip she had on his hand. When she saw the heartbroken, defeated gaze she had, he stood with determination in his eyes. "Ill go up to the tower to activate it. We cant stay here." he said, all eyes falling on him at once, shock on their faces.

"You finally lose your mind boy? You to that tower alone, theyll eat you up!" Coach said, while th others nodded. Bill was next, "Look, im glad your brave, but theres also a bit of stupidity into this plan of yours." he said with a bit of aprhension. Zoey was the last one, and perhaps the most upset. "Your are NOT doing that Ellis. Havent we lost enough? what if you..." she trailed off, covering her mouth as she began to cry at the thought. Ellis smiled.

"Look, i get it. No one thinks i can survive. Well...i aim to prove ya'll wrong, its not like we got a whole lot of options. Who knows how long the armys gonna stay at the bridge? I'd rather die trying to get out alive, then stay here and fight a losing battle." he said, his goofy tone missing this time-he was dead serious, something the others arent used to from th young man. After a moment, he picked up a m-16 and headed for the door, smiling slightly.

Zoey ran to him and hugged him fiecrely. She felt like she had to say it. "Ellis...if you...ya know...i want you to know that..." she said, sturuggling to say the words that she had wanted to say for so long. Just say it! "I love you" she said, to which Ellis had one of his biggest smiles. He leaned down and kissed her lips softly, holding it there for a solid mintue before moving away. "Likewise. Now, i gotta go save us all. I'll be back." he saluted than left.

As she watched his retreating form untill he turned up a corner and vanished from view, she could only form three more words. "Please be safe" before she went to sit on the couch with Bill, who couldnt come up with any words of encouragement, even the cheerful Louis was quiet.

I know i said, this was a one-shot, but while writing it, i had a thought-make the 1st chapter with a little Ellis-zoey moments, and then conclude with the tragedy portion. sorry for the misleading introduction guys. anyway, let me know what you think of the story as well as my new pen name idea. does it fit me?
