Naofumi awoke to the rumbling of distant thunder, and the sound of pattering rain against the window… and to the smell of earth and ozone.

Another stormy day, then.

He'd have to get up sooner or later, he supposed. Breakfast would need to be started at some point, not to mention the plethora of chores that still needed to be finished around the house — chores that he had continually put off time and time again, forever relegated to 'maybe later' or 'maybe tomorrow'. Where had all that diligence of his gone off to? Was it the rain, perhaps?

Someone stirred beside him, their warm breath brushing against his neck, their fingers curling against the front of his shirt and holding tight as they drew closer, cuddling up against him and nuzzling into his chest. This was the true answer to his question, most likely. Diligence, slain by the great beast known as 'Affection'.

He tried to move and they made a quiet sound in protest, their soft, fuzzy ears fluttering against his chin as an equally-fluffy tail draped itself over his waist. "Mm…"

"C'mon," he said. "I can't make breakfast for us if you don't let me go."

"Just a few more minutes…"

"Raphtalia, I swear we do this every morning."

"...Please, Naofumi-sama?" She yawned, her voice still light and airy from sleep as she pressed against him, one leg now wrapped over his. "Staying in bed a little longer never really… hurt anyone…"

"You want omurice, don't you?" he asked, placing an arm around her as he drew her close. "I know it's your favorite."

"Because you make it…"

"You'd eat anything if it was made by me, let's be honest."

"Mm… true…" Raphtalia suddenly peered at him, staring through bleary eyes as a faint grin spread across her face. "How about… I'll trade you a kiss for more time in bed together…"

Chuckling softly, he whispered, "You'd do that anyways."

With the gentle press of her lips against his, he relaxed a bit more and quietly mused to himself: A few more minutes, then.
