Ninja are Stupid

Based on "Wizards are Stupid" by LineApe. Non-related Naruto oneshots.

AN: I read "Wizards are Stupid" an thought about how the concept applied to other series. And then i thought of this. Mabye doing things that blatantly violate mother nature destroys your common sense?

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.

Sound Ninja are Really Stupid.

At first it sounded like a good idea. A minor village recruiting whole clans, finally they could have proper missions again. No more having their missions stolen by bigger villages, no more being looked down on because your clan hadn't or wasn't allowed to join a major hidden village. And best of all it was being led by a man who was recognised across the Elemental Countries as being as strong as a Kage. An actual Kage-level shinobi! Not like those other "minor" villages, led by someone the Strength of an elite-jonin at the very best. And with all the other clans joining it would gain power incredibly fast, no building up of forces for a few generations.

So with all this it looked like Hidden Sound was set to possibly even become the sixth major Hidden Village. It was almost perfect!

...Really; that should have tipped them off. They were shinobi, they should know that if something looks too good to be true, it probably is. It shouldn't have even taken that much digging to find out...

There were very few true "kage" class threats in the bingo book. Missing-nins were far more often classified as S-rank because of information they had stolen. So that narrowed the field appreciably. And of the remainder, most had very good reasons to avoid following them: some were simply psychopathic (Hidan) whilst others would kill you for irritating them (Kakuzu killed 2 of his partners before Hidan for this). Regardless they were, by and large not good leader candidates.

Orochimaru was in some ways worse, he wouldn't simply kill you immediately, he would experiment on you first and it was rare indeed for these experiments to achieve any useful boost. Honestly, the man was thrown out of his village for performing experiments on civilians that even the one of the major villages found disgusting. Don't forget these villages regularly seal demons into children and turn other children into emotionless shells.

Honestly, who wants to follow a guy like that?

But then, Ninja can be stupid.

AN: This is the first thing I've written. I just feel that, of all the people you could follow; why would you follow a man like Orochimaru. And if you did, why stay with the man. Hell; he got a good chunk of his forces wiped out attacking Konoha and the rest still follow him.
