"Uunh" Mai whined scratching at a bug bite on her leg, then one on her arm, then one on her stomach.
She and Zuko had gone to a fete in a near by village, Zuko concealed under his cloak of course, for them to take a break from of being important.
But the fete had lasted well into the evening, and during the dusty hours of sunset the midges and gnats and other biting insects had sprung up, and peppered Mai head to toe in bites.
Mai scratched furiously at one bite, then another, leaving them both red and sore. Suddenly two large hands grabbed her wrists and pulled them above her head.
"Now, now the doctor told you not to scratch," a deep voice murmured in her ear. Mai frowned,
"He also said this anti-bite stuff would stop them itching!" she complained haughtily. Zuko laughed softly, releasing her wrists to pull her into a hug.
"Yeah, but the bugs have only proved what I've been telling you for years." He said, nuzzling the soft skin in the nape of her neck. Mai moaned gently and stretched her neck out to give him more access to her skin.
"Mmm? And what's that?"
Zuko chuckled softly and sucked on her collar bone.
"You have the sweetest skin."
