Window

I lie on my bed and stare out of my window. It's snowing outside. Such a thing would normally make me happy, but not now. Not after what has happened.

I remember the moment I found out. I knew what had happened before Dumbledore told me. But even though I knew it didn't make the moment I found out less shocking and terrible.

I couldn't stop crying those first few days. I didn't eat at all and only had small amounts of water. I didn't go to any of my classes and I didn't see or talk to anyone, not even my boyfriend of 7 months, James Potter.

After those first couple of days I had small amounts of food, I still hadn't talked to James or gone to any of my classes.

It's now been about 2 weeks. I feel bad for shutting him out, I know it will be hurting him. I know he just wants to help and comfort me.

I hear a knock on my door. James.

"May I come in Lily?" He asks, anxiety clear in his voice.

"Please do," I say.

He walks in but I don't look at him, I just lie on my bed, a pile of depression, still staring out of my window.

"Lily," James says in a sad tone.

I turn to him and reach out my hand to him. He takes it and lies down on the bed next to. I move over to him and snuggle up against him.

"I'm sorry for ignoring you these past few weeks James," I say.

"Don't apologise Lily flower, I know exactly what it's like," James says.

Tears come to my eyes "It's not fair James," I say "it's so bloody unfair. Why them? They were such good people! They never even got to meet you!"

"I know," he says, drawing swirls on my hand with his thumb. It's such a comforting gesture. He looks at me, a sad smile on his face. "I'm have no idea why such bad things happen to such good people Lily. I know the sadness you feel at the moment feels so debilitating but you have to try to move on. I know how hard it is Lily. But you've been in here for over two weeks. Barely eating" he says.

"It's just so so hard," I say. James leans over to me and kisses my forehead. I give him a small smile. "I know it is, but I'm here for you and I'm going to help you through this. Are you going to come to dinner?"

I shake my head. "I promise I'll go to breakfast tomorrow," I say. I have to take baby steps.

"I'll bring you some, okay? I'll be back really soon," he says.

I lean over to him, put my hands on either side of his face, slowly lean in and kiss him. I pull back after a moment and give him a small smile. He smiles back at me.

"Thank you James," I say as he gets off the bed "I love you."

"I love you too Lily."

He gets up and leaves the room. I'm so thankful for him, he is an incredible boyfriend. I'm happy my parents got to meet him before, it happened. I'll never forget what my mother said about him.

"He's different that one. He clearly loves you and it's not just some puppy love. Don't let that one go Lily," she said.

This is my first story in a very long time. Reviews would be much appreciated. And if you review I'll review right back haha :)
