"Did you see?"
"Yeah..."
"So romantic..."
"What did she say?"
The entire Hogwarts castle seems to be buzzing with whispers, and Lily Evans hates it, she hates it when she's not let in on secrets and she hates it when people whisper around her, and that's what everyone is doing right now.
"Lily! Did you see?" Alice came bounding down the stairs and rushing towards Lily, who is walking towards the Great Hall.
"See what?" Lily snapped, already angry at people whispering behind her back,
"You didn't?" Alice said with raised eyebrows, "Where were you the whole morning?"
"In the Head's dormitory, doing my Charms essay,'
"Come on," Alice said, and started tugging Lily's sleeve while running down the stairs,
"Slow down, I'm going to fall!"
They arrived in front of the huge oak doors of the Great Hall,
"OK, take a deep breath..." Alice said to Lily, Lily rolled her eyes at Alice and stood there waiting as Alice swung the door open with a slight push.
The first thing she noticed was that the four tables are nearly empty, people are all pressed against the walls, the whispers and murmurs dying when they see her, the second thing she noticed is up on the ceiling, which showed the sky at it is - a vast canvas of forget-me-not blue, is a huge red ribbon that spells: Marry Me, Lily?
Lily stood there motionlessly, staring at the red ribbon that wavers slightly in the air, then her eyes fell on the boy with messy black hair standing on the marble floors, looking at her expectantly and motioning for her to walk towards him.
It took a few minutes before Lily found her limbs and a few more minutes before she figured out how to use them, then she walked slowly towards the love of her life,
"Lily," James held Lily's hand, and slowly, he went down on one knee, "Lily. You are the most amazing person I've ever met, you put up a good fight against me, that's what made me like you, not because I can't have you, but because you are not like all the other girls who fall in front of my feet. Lily, I don't want anything other than spending the rest of my life by your side, will you marry me?" And James held out a simple diamond ring in his hand.
"Awww" several girls who are pressed against the walls said,
A tense atmosphere landed in the Great Hall when Lily didn't say anything, she just stood staring at the man on one knee in front of him and the simple diamond ring,
"Show off," Lily half said half laughed after a few minutes of silence, then she lowered her head even more and kissed James. James stood up and lifted Lily up and whirled her around with her lips still on his, after they stopped kissing, James slipped the ring on Lily's finger and kissed her again, this time tenderly, and the whole Great Hall erupted in cheers except one, who turned away with tears in his eyes.
A/N - James being the show off he is, would probably do something like this. But I know this would not happen because it would become a legend in Hogwarts, and Harry would surly hear about this during his years in Hogwarts.
It came out shorter than I planned, and I'm too lazy to add feelings, leave what Lily is thinking to your imagination!
