Karin Maaka is your normal sixteen year old klutz. Except not, she had an unspeakable secret... she was a vampire! not your typical bats and cloak type vampire but one who cooked garlic in the sunlight while increasing her blood instead of lacking it, yes Karin was different. That was fine at school when she was trying to hide it from maki, who thanks to Winner Sinclair now knows.

Kenta knew too. he didn't mind clearing up her nosebleeds, or having to be targeted by her Grandma Elda, and it wasn't just her box lunch that gave Kenta a motivation to help, nor the threats from her family but the fact he loved her- and she made it obvious she loved him. Maki loved Winner, but instead of all playing happy couples Winner Sinclair, the reborn vampire hunter still fancied Karin. Confusing, i'm sure.

Karin Maaka woke up at seven in the morning. she sighed, and then went to sleepily shower. she was happy, why shouldn't she be? she had a loving family, kind friends who accepted she wasn't human and two admirers. But, she was happy because today was Karin's seventeenth birthday. she draped a fluffy red towel around her shoulders as she brushed her wet hair and did her make up. Then, cautiously examined her school uniform for any dirt before wearing it, Anju's rag doll Bge really liked to play pranks!

More awake, she padded downstairs to eat breakfast alone at the long dinning table. after she finished her mug of coffee and rashes of bacon, she went to make a side salad for the two box lunches she had prepared the night before.

The clock struck eight, school wasn't until nine, she called Maki and asked her if she could go to get the groceries with her but the mobile did not answer.

"Typical!" Karin chuckled, "I bet she hasn't arose from the dead yet."

Karin Maaka got her school bag and went to the supermarket. she knew she had enough money for something nice to take to school for a birthday treat. she browsed along the food section, anxiously counting up sums. she had taken some cash from the housekeeping jar to get the food, hopefully she wouldn't get whipped with her mother's slipper.

"Now for what i want, what do i want?" she muttered slowly. she picked up a magazine, chucking a can of coke from hand to hand, when her mobile rung in her short skirt's pocket. the tune was a song wrote by Anju for Karin's ninth birthday, it seriously embarrassed her in public though!

She checked the text message:

Karin, bad news, come to school quickly, meet me behind the english block!
