The Vongola Book

There was a magician AU post with Tsuna discovering a book of Vongola magic. With that idea, I reconfigured it to fit my definition of magic and this fic was the result. It's a oneshot so don't expect an extension. Plus, this signifies my debut into the KHR fanfic section!

Disclaimer: All characters and concepts are Akira Amano's except that anon's magician AU. Whoever gave that AU to chamiryokuroi, I thank you.

"Tsu-kun! Time to clean the attic!" The attic? Tsuna never even knew his house even had an attic.

Reborn and his not-so-trusty posse of troublemakers had a hard time getting down the ladder because Lambo had played hide and seek down there once and blown up the ladder. After everyone else had gotten down by stepping on Tsuna (except Reborn who'd gotten down thanks to Bianchi) Tsuna's only way to get down was to drop from the broken ladder.

After a few hours, things got cleaned up. Tsuna was neatening up the final shelf when a book caught his eye – Book of - Vongola Magic. (He couldn't read the third word, and strangely the title was the only thing in English.) Ha. It sounded like something from Harry Potter.

He took it to his room, opened it and…saw only gibberish words and an ornate ring. Sliding the ring on, he got an idea – do an expelliarmus spell with an imaginary wand - and it ended up zapping something, to his surprise. He looked at his hand and a wand really was in his hand!

As Tsuna waved the wand around, ecstatic yet clueless, a "Kufufu…" came from outside and chills went down his spine. "You don't know how to use your powers yet? Read the book," the deep-for-a-sixteen-year-old voice told him. The wand had gone as soon as he'd forgotten about it.

"B-But I can't read it!" Tsuna protested, knowing who that was.

"It's in Italian, Vongola 10th. I've read and memorised every single book of Vongola magic but that one, so you'd better fork it over or I'll use force." Mukuro walked up to the window and held out his hand.

Tsuna snatched the book up, but couldn't do anything else because he'd frozen up with fear. "Too easy," Mukuro muttered as he switched to path 1 and created multiple books, pulling the real one from Tsuna's grasp.

Reborn appeared all of a sudden, kicking Tsuna down and yelling at him to get the book.

On his way to the school, Tsuna couldn't help noticing that people were using magic in their everyday activities. Even Ryohei had fire magic, and just to prove it was real the boxing nut smashed his fire-covered fist into Tsuna (by accident).

At the baseball pitch, Yamamoto was practising his pitching, fuelling the balls with some extra speed from the water he generated with his magic. The net was soaking wet from extensive practice.

As Tsuna passed by, he got smacked down by the ball Yamamoto just threw. Luckily, he hadn't stopped to put out the fire so that did it for him. But somehow, Tsuna had almost dodged the ball…

The chase led them to Namimori's roof where they met up with Hibari, who was now holding the book and stashing away his tonfas. Mukuro was knocked out behind him and only wisps of air and dark clouds were left behind to show there even was a battle.

"Finally, herbivore, you can take away this insolent illusionist," Hibari nodded at Reborn even though his message was for Tsuna.

As Reborn acknowledged the nod, he snatched up the book. "Now Tsuna, this is for you." Reborn had never been so kind in his tiny life…but then he realised why Reborn had been so kind. Invisible fire cloaked the book and Tsuna had to ask Yamamoto to cool his hands down.

As for what magic Tsuna had, it turned out he was the psychic type. That explained why he'd almost avoided Yamamoto's ball, even though Yamamoto was known for throwing at really high speeds.
