Hello this is my first fanfic for Code Geass. It basically is what I think would of happened if Suzaku joined Lelouch after Suzaku was freed from his trial for supposedly killing Clovis. Most of the events in this story will happen in the proper story but Suzaku will be on Lelouch's side instead. Please enjoy AsheriteAbyss13's story; The Masked Hero and The Anti Knight
Chapter 1; Together we can do anything
"It looks as though they've been treating you do know how they do things now, don't you private Kururugi?" Zero announced.
Suzaku didn't speak
"Was this the person who murdered prince Clovis," Suzaku thought.
"Britannia is rotten to the core. If you wish to change the world, join me!" Zero declared
"Did you really kill prince Clovis?" Suzaku asked.
"This is war. Do I need a reason to kill my enemy?" Zero replied
"What about the poison gas, you took those entire civilians hostage!" Demanded Suzaku.
"Bluffing is an important negotiating tactic and in the end nobody died." Zero spoke causally as if they were nothing but pawns in his plan
"So that's how you think." Suzaku muttered to himself.
"Its true that he didn't kill anyone with his methods however he only sees people as pawns for his vision. If the hostages died then he wouldn't of blinked an eye in horror. Yet it is true that sometimes the peaceful method only leads to a temporary peace. The animosity between races shall stand despite being in peace with them, it only takes one spark to ignite it all again. A force to be reckoned with could easily stop and control the conflicts of the world. But still the cost human lives is too large to tell." Suzaku thought
"Do not think Suzaku Kururugi that my goal is simple terrorism. Terrorism is but a fly to Britannia. It is easily crushed. However worse of all it harms the lives of innocents. When terrorists strike at Britannia who do they retaliate against? Since their faces are hidden Britannia goes for the people that Britannia believes are their accomplices which result in the mass murder of innocents. You saw it didn't you in Shinjuku. The mass murder of Japanese all because they believed that the terrorists were hiding there. By revealing who it is that Britannia is fighting against I insure that the Britannians strike only at me. I mean to wage war against oppression. To destroy its core and bring a new era in the world. A new peace one that allows the co-existence of races in the world. I know you Suzaku better than anyone in the world today! I know that you fight for peace! Our methods may of been different but you felt it to didn't you? The voice in your head that told you that this world is a mistake. If you are worried of the price of blood that may occur remember the greatest empires in the world in history where never created by peace it was created by blood. The blood of those who believed in war's cause. The blood of those who believed that the future could be obtained by fighting. We cannot wait for the world to change and hid. We will find that after we have hidden that the world has become worse. Join me Suzaku Kururugi, become my right hand! Become the bane of oppression! Cry to the world against injustice!Strike fear in the hearts of the snobbish rulers! Set free the world from injustice! JOIN ME." Zero Declared.
"It is true what Zero has said. I have known all these years ago that the direction of the world is a mistake. That somehow the world should be better. I naively thought that I could change it with the system but I realize now that even if I became of the highest ranking people in Britannia I would not accept me let alone accept my calls of peace. It is true that many civilizations have been created and destroyed by blood. I know that only to well. The death of my father at my hands caused the final fall of Japan. These hands have been stained. No matter how much I hid my true colours it still remains. That means the only way I can atone is the fulfillment of the intentions that blood was split for. When I killed my father I wished for peace. Now I will realize my previous goals by sinking deeper in the blood. However I need to see his face. I will demand his identity as the price for my support." Suzaku reasoned in his head
"Zero, I will join you to change the world but if you really wish my support then show me your face!" Suzaku demanded.
"I was going to show you anyway Suzaku," Zero announced causally.
Zero unclasped the mask that hid his face. Using his two hands he gently removed the mask for his head and let it drop with a dull thud on the ground. A gust of wind blew into the hollow building and swept away the the black hair of Zero. Two glowing purple eyes shinning in the night like a owl's eyes, an omen of death and destruction.
"Lelouch you're Zero?!" Suzaku cried out in disbelief.
Suzaku couldn't believe it; he hadn't seen Lelouch in 7 years before the incident in Shinjuku now he has come back as a terrorist against Britannia.
"Ha ha ha, of course it had to be you Lelouch; you're the only one who can pull that off and the only one who hates Britannia so much." Suzaku thought out loud.
Suzaku remembered the memories of seven years ago. The memories they shared with Lelouch's sister Nunnally. The greatest evidence of the possibility of co-existence. He remembered that day when Britannia invaded. He remembered the hatred his friend bore and promise he made to destroy it all. He remembered the blood seven years ago, the stains in his hands and the blood surrounding him. To him seven years ago was a time of great joy yet impossibly a time that destroyed his very view on his world, it contained the memories that spur will him into action today.
"I take it you will still be joining me Suzaku?" Lelouch asked.
"Of course, I will fight to change this world for the sake of peace." Suzaku announced.
"What shall we do now Lelouch?" Suzaku inquired, trusting his old friend's judgement
"Well I think that you should clear your good name first, go back to your trial Suzaku, they won't have enough evidence to charge you with murder but then demand to leave the military on account of mistrusting it. Come back to me once its all done" Lelouch ordered.
"I'll do just that Lelouch, I'll trust you, together we can accomplish anything, even changing the world." Suzaku affirmed
They shook hands.
"follow my lead Suzaku, I think for security reasons that we should protect the knowledge of your admittance to my cause." Lelouch whispered.
"Idiot that court martial will declare you a criminal," Zero declared as Suzaku left.
"Even so I will go back for the sake of the system and the elevens."
"See you later Lelouch, I'll fight by your side soon." Suzaku thought
"Goodbye my only friend Suzaku," Lelouch remarked under his breath.
And so down they went into the murky swamp of of destiny. Into a world of conflict, of hatred and fear. They walked as companions in the swamp immersing themselves deeper to change the world from within
Well how was that for the first chapter? You will recognize most of the lines from episode four of the first season. I promise that it will get more exciting later on. Until then please rate and review. Any criticisms are welcome (this is only my second story.)
